We ended up eating here as the restaurant where we planned to eat turned out to be closed that day. As most restaurants by the main street, this one also is rather aimed at a random tourist. An extremely attentive and polite service was definitely a big plus. Meals were ok, quite solid, but nothing memorable that would make you feel like returning. The meal was a bit ruined as we sat inside and the number of flies in the room on that hot day was difficult to stand.
Although we had a pleasant drink outside this restaurant the waitress was not particularly friendly and most often during our 2 day stay it was shut
Hotel recommended the place, we ate lunch there. Right at the top of the street in the town and was very pleasant with good food and staff. Would go again. Good beer
This restaurant is a very good representation of the food of the Alsace region. The combination of German and French influences. They also have a nice selection of beer and wine. A great place to hang out while your wife is across the street at Feerie de Noel.
....to people watch whilst enjoying a glass of local wine or a meal. Some of the places on the main hill up to the Dolder gate put the pressure on to get shot of you as soon as possible with money more the driver than customer service.Not this nice bar with polite efficient staff and pole position.Plenty of locals use it. Prices are fair for a prime location. Look out for and try not to step on the resident collie under the tables.
This is a good place for a coffee midmorning. They open around ten with outdoor seating and at that hour the sun is not in your eyes. Service is good and prices reasonable. They make a good cup of coffee and the croissant is flaky layered pasterie as it is supposed to be.
This pub / restaurant is one of the few places open after 2pm to get a bite for a late lunch. We got there at about 1430 and they were still serving tarte flambé which were fantastic. We ordered the ham, cheese and escargot- they are very filling. Not cheap at €12 each but lots of topping and very filling and satisfying, a must try for any visit to Alsace region if you have not tried before. It is situated right near the gate at the top end of the village.
Authentic atmosphere near the upper "main gate" entrance to Riquewihr. Limited wine selection, but a lovely place to catch your breath, have a snack and glass of wine and enjoy the scenery.
