Great local food and good service. The setting is perfect in the mountains. We walked down the mountain after a rich meal

You really think that you taken a wrong turn, because it takes a while to reach the restaurant in the forests near Riquewihr in the Alsace. We went there for lunch en it was really nice. On the terrace outside, between the roses and herbs they use for the food. Very quiet and relaxing!

As with all real pearls, hard to find! The location of the ferme-auberge in the forest makes it difficult to find, but it's worth the effort. We come here for over twenty years, sometimes several times a year. And have never been disappointed, on the contrary, we have lunch or dinner each time with utmost pleasure. The food is not sophisticated but honest and traditional: vegetables come partly from the own garden of the restaurant, game comes from the surrounding forest, etc. Do not expect a fancy restaurant: the quality is in the food and the beautiful area around the restaurant. On nice days you can sit on the outside patio while enjoying the food and the environment at the same. The price-quality ratio is almost unbeatable. Fo a three-course menu (soup, main course and delicious tarte after) one pays less than €20.

Weather was good so we had dinner outside. Service was good and the food was abundant and tasty. We had the urn soup followed by wild boar stew and cock au vin washed down with a glass of wine and for dessert fruit tart (cherry and raspberry).Great place up in the hills and worth the drive up out of Riquewihr.

The gîtes where we are staying included this on their list of nearby restaurants. And we read the reviews on Trip Advisor. We decided to make a trial run this afternoon since directions were so sketchy and the forest was so dense. It seemed as if it took a long time to get there, but we did fine. After saving the coordinates in our GPS, we made a reservation for later that night and headed back to town. The ride back to town took about 20 mins. When we went back for our reservation, our table was ready for us. The 4 of us ordered prix fixe menus. The starter was an urn of soup. It was so good, most of us had a second helping. Our main dishes arrived family style with a bowl of green salad. The meals were all very hearty and the 4 of us really enjoyed tasting each other's dishes. There was a of food. We couldn't eat it all. There were 4 choices for dessert, so we got one of each and shared. We won't hesitate to try a ferme auberge again and the next time we are in the Alsace, we won't hesitate to go back. Thanks to those who reviewed St Alexis in the past- this restaurant is not to be missed.

This restaurant is amazing. Just the road going here is an adventure and then when arriving you will not be disappointed. This place is what Alsace is all about...- great surroundings, - humble food with great flavor- great wine- great value- great serviceI absolutely love the way the food is served in large bowls/plates to share at the table. I always visit St. Alexis when I visit Alsace and I have never been disappointed.

Wow, what an outstanding find! I found this courtesy Tripadvisor. I’m glad we had a car so we didn’t have to hike up/down. Having said that, it’s worth the hike up for their truly outstanding food. We liked the food so much we had dinner there the following night (we normally don’t repeat restaurants while on vacation AND we have a favorite place in Riquewihr). Our first meal, lunch was an omelet for my wife and the fixed menu of soup, munster tartiflette, and tiramisu. Everything was sooooo good. The tartiflette was the best we’d ever had. Thus, we decided to do dinner there the next evening. We both opted for the munster tartiflette menu; dessert changed to apple tart or red currant tart. Everything was once again outstanding. I’m so glad we found this place. It is, for sure, one of the places we’ll definitely return to in southern Alsace!
