We visited Restaurant La Taverne Alsacienne recently in June. A perfect place for people watching in the beautiful town. The waitress was very friendly and recognised us on our return trips. We had a pitcher of local Riesling, the Rostie and Tarte Flambe. The meals were tasty and hearty and affordable. Such a perfect place to sit with a glass of wine, a tarte flambe and enjoy the surroundings, watch the storks on nearby rooftops. If we ever get back to Riquewihr we would most definitely visit this lovely restaurant again :)

My brother and I stopped here for a pizza dinner. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. The pizza margarita was excellent and enough for 2 to share. My brother had the dark beer, which he said was very good.

Whilst having read that this restaurant was quaint, cosy, homely and friendly serving decent food, and having a fair rating, I decided to book online and also phoned in to confirm. Upon arrival, my booking had disappeared for some reason but a gentleman who seemed to be the owner managed to find us a table in an otherwise almost empty restaurant.I haven't the faintest idea what happened to my reservation but this didn't start the meal off well.Local dishes were tasty and fresh, whilst being a little bland in my opinion but this is only the second time I have tasted Alsacian food. Home made blueberry and homemade apple pies were delicious and coffee was standardBill was fair.Didn't appreciate being shortchanged. In short, despite all it's quaintness and homely feel, honestly I think that the time may have come to renovate the place.Food was good, but wow factor was missing.Dessert was very tasty.I think there are better places out there.........

After taking quite a while to find somewhere to have a late lunch, my friend and I found this cafe. The place is quite small, but quaint inside. I have to say, maybe because it had taken us some time to find a place to eat, I wasn't that impressed with the menu. I settled on the Baeckeoffe, and my friend, the Tourte Munster. I have never had Baeckeoffe before, so I am not sure whether what I had is typical, but I found it very peppery, to the point I did not really enjoy my meal. My friend seemed to be happy with his Tourte Munster however.I cannot fault the service, it was very quick and efficient. The waiter, who I believe is also the owner spoke English, which helped me.Prices at this cafe are very reasonable for a touristy place such as Riquewihr.

A very friendly server sat us and we ordered beers and frites to start because that was our mood! And the frites were more plentiful than we would have guessed and perfectly cooked. For our main course, I had the Rosti Poulet Roti (roast chicken in a potato stew in a an iron skillet) -- fantastic! My wife had the Tourte Munster (a meat pie with lots of good munster cheese). Also tops!

We visited this restaurant twice, in May and in the end of October and both times we werepretty satisfied even though the place is far from the concept of fine dining.Small, cozy and with a certain glimpse of local traditionalism it could be considered a spot for tourists, but actually it is a positive example of what such a place should be.We went for the two main local things, flammekuchen and rosti, and ordered fron every type. All came pretty quickly and all of us were happy with what we got (especially the rosti!). We spent approximately 2 hours enjoying the outside atmosphere during our first visit and this was the reason why we came for a second time.In conclusion, this place is an examle of what a very good and recomendable tourist place should be.
