The restaurant looks nice, the food was fair, the wine was great. The waiters were arguing with each other, beats watching TV by far. The steak was really very bad but according to the waiter they never had complaints before.
We arrived around 7pm hungry and decided to try this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but were lucky to have a table as the place was packed. We were seated and forgotten about, people who came after us were served before. The hamburger that my husband and son ordered were scrumptious. I tried a homemade cocktail which had no taste compared to what I'm used to in Louisiana in the USA. It was weak and full of ice-cubes. I ordered a pizza "tartine" and the the mushrooms were canned ones not even fresh. Was quite disappointed with the food given the price we paid. The decor was stunning though, felt like we were really in NOLA in the middle of Auvergne in France covered in snow.
Spend new year's eve in the Mont Dore. Went to the Louisiane for an evening meal. The restaurant was pack and all the traditional raclette, fondue and aligot were on the menu. Went back at the beginning of May hoping for a repeat of the excellent meal we had a few weeks back and what a disappointment ! They had just reopened (1st May) and the menu had completly changed. No more traditional meals, only your usual "motorway" grub : greasy food and frozen chips.
We walked in early for a table for Dinner on Saturday night, no problem. Lots of room, but filled quickly. The food was delicious and huge plates served up.
We booked at the Le Louisiana because they advertised Tartiflette. What we received was a bowl of dauphinoise potatoes and a side salad with some assorted meats, not in the least like the Alpine dish we had expected. The food was delivered so fast it can't possibly have been cooked to order and was mediocre at best. The desert was advertised as Tiramisu but when brought to the table was a plain mousse with a bland berry topping. when we complained we were offered ice cream as an alternative. The chocolate ice cream brought to us had been stored too long in the freezer and bore no resemblance to actual ice cream. If you want a nice meal in Mont Dore go to "Le Tsar" just up the road.
Pre booking is a must at busy times of the year like Christmas through to New Year. Very good meal and reasonably priced. Service was very good and although we had to sit on 2 tables next door to each other across the main isle, the meal was very tasty and there was plenty of it!
Très bel endroit, désagréable. Choisissez entre le menu sur l'ardoise, le plat de la journée et la carte. Prix raisonnable. Nous avions pris une rime de veau aux girolles et une viande sale super tendre. Les desserts des menus sont au choix sur toute la carte, rafraîchissants! Et nous offrons aux enfants des produits locaux, à l'exception de la steack ou du jambon frit. Nous recommandons
Personnel amical, atmosphère rétro à excès, qualité des produits fabriqués House. Seulement les toilettes négatives pointent pour goûter la journée. Joli moment pour refaire et vraiment conseiller.
