Great spot for lunch. Cool setting under the trees in the heart of Gordes. The food was very good and service was also good. Great spot to sit a while.
Served a frozen pizza and charged around 15 euros for it. Servers were rude and the owner was rude also. Avoid!
You are looking for a place dirty, more than expensive, and you really want to have a bad time during a lunch or dîner. Lets go straight To This place . It s really far away from french cuisine. ( even basic one ).
I agree with the other awful reviews of this place. Bad in every way, from tasteless overpriced food to the meagre wine portions. No bread portions or water served with the meal either. Nice location for sure, but a REAL CLASSIC tourist trap to be avoided.
We had a tiny glass of wine and a tiny glass of beer, both about the same portion size, for six euros each. Total tourist trap. Avoid this place!
We had four different courses and none of them were interesting or even filling. The place is giving an impression of being fancy, but the food is tasteless and feels cheap. The location is nice, but can weigh up the impression of low value for money
Terrible service, dreadful wine by the glass (really hard to do in France), and chintzy portions. If there were a negative rating -- like a minus 5 -- I would give it. But it looks like I'm not the first person to be outraged by this restaurant. Why is it still under this management? Could the owners get away with anything because this place was in some B movie?
We stopped here only because we are fans of "A Good Year" and this was of course Fanny's restaurant. Now I have read the reviews of others and I cannot say yes or not to the criticism. We had a lovely time, got a seat near the fountain on a REALLY hot day, were served by a lovely (though extremely busy) young lady and cooled off with a fruit juice that was not really overpriced.So, my take on all of this would be that, if you are in Gordes - which is one of the bigger tourist attractions but has little else to offer - expect to pay an exorbitant price for food and alcohol. This is not a typical French village, it is inhabited by rich Parisians, Americans and English. But if you are there for a quick visit and want a cool fruit juice in a postcard setting, stop at La Renaissance (and maybe Russel Crowe will show up)?
