Le Whitney Bar - Tignes

Very very pleasant bar in the heart of Tignes. It's layout makes it suitable for individuals, couples and groups large and small. It is a very smart bar and enjoyed our time there.

I like the Whitney Bar for a slow relaxing apres-ski drink in front of the log fire. There is a good range of classic cocktails and some house specials. None are cheap and I wouldn't recommend it for those who just want to get in a few beers. Finger food is available. A lovely St Bernard keeps an eye on customers from a strategic position near the door.

Whitney Bar is decorated very stylish and fashionalbly. The staff is very friendly and experienced. Unfortunatley during our stay in Val Claret, the bar was always nearly empty. The prices are very high.

Visited twice in a week for drinks. Great cocktail list and champagne/wine list to die for if your wallet allows (mine didn't). Service was first class. Nothing was to much trouble for the waiting staff even entertaining the kids. The only problem we had it that it looked so luxurious compared to where we were staying !! Resident dog is great

Great cocktails, we had 6 in our group, slightly expensive at 120€, the surroundings and Igloo the dog made up for it.

Called in at lunchtime on our last morning in Tignes where we had enjoyed a wonderful welcome everywhere we went. Could not find a wine list & when we asked was told, "not my department, will find someone". After quite a while grumpy arrived! Could do a bottle of wine but food not served until later. Did point out that the menu said "food served between 8am - 10pm, ( or about those times). She said that was a mistake & would have to get it changed!! As I said, NO WELCOME, so we left!

The cook was cute, super cute.

Not even close to a good BBQ resturantPork sandwich came alone so I had to order it with a side of fries and potato salad.
