We went here to celebrate my partner's birthday. As Britons living in France, we miss spicy food, and are willing to travel for an hour by car to get an Indian dinner. So we have been to St Malo, St Brieuc, even Brest and Quimper ( 2 hours away) to try to sample some authentic Indian food. This restaurant is run by Sri Lankans, not Indians in fact. Most "Indian" restaurants, I believe, adapt their cuisine to a French palate, so for British clients, the food doesn't taste really authentic, as it isn't hot enough. Our starters of samosas/rolls/prawns were quite bland and mushy. My main, tandoori chicken tikka, was very tasty and a copious dish. The dhal was creamy. My partner's biriani was so-so, the naan bread a bit doughy, the rice seemed reheated. The pistachio kulfi was ace! Great coffee too.St Méen is a small town, so the restaurant was almost empty on a Tuesday night. I can understand that some short-cuts have to be taken to make a living. The waiter/proprietor was a lovely, friendly man and spoke a variety of languages including English, which will be useful for tourists. Overall, a happy experience, but still not what we are looking for as a regular spice-fix spot.
