We've been here several times now since moving to the area - in fact we moved to the area because we were searching rather urgently for a rental, came to the town to try the restaurant which someone had recommended, decided we liked it here and found somewhere to live! We'd certainly recommend the restaurant. Like the previous reviewer said, it is quite mild for British palates, and as the owner himself is keen to point out, he and his cooking are Sri Lankan rather than Indian, despite the restaurant's name. We've found his beef dishes are the best so far, the meat is beautifully tender and well cooked and he uses unusual spices he's happy to tell you about. The prawn starter is good, the biryani a bit bland. I like the naan bread, but he has no tandoor so it's different from a typical tandoori naan, quite solid and doughy, and as his portions really are quite generous I seldom have much room for it and end up taking it home to eat later! (He's very good about packing up the leftovers for take away.)The kulfi is certainly good but incredibly rich and sweet! The décor is very attractive and he's a lovely guy, clearly well known and popular in the community. Well worth trying and an unusual find in a small French town.
