I find the name of this restaurant a bit misleading. While it invokes images of a quintessential French place, this is actually a pizza-and-pasta place (although they do serve steaks). It's not really 'Italian" though; the food - and the pizzas - have a decidedly French flavour to them, even if "French pizza" seems a bit like a contradiction. I'd say you're unlikely to find a pizza with potatoes, crème frâiche, lardons, onions and reblochon in Italy, for example. It was busy when I visited on a Saturday night; the atmosphere was convivial and the little place was bustling. The single waitress was doing an amazing job handling so many tables, while the food was being prepared in the open kitchen by two guys who looked like they'd been doing that for a long time. I arrived unannounced and was quickly allocated a spot on a long table between two other groups; a bit like joining another group for dinner - it's that sort of place. Service was friendly and surprisingly quick considering how busy it was. Full marks on that front. My pizza was good without being great, but nicely done just the same. Dessert of chocolate mousse was home made and good as well. The wine by the carafe was on the other hand barely drinkable and definitely at the lower end of the bulk wine scale. They could have provided something a little more drinkable without breaking the bank.Definitely better than average, so "very good" it is then (although I'm tempted to give an average rating because of the poor wine).
