Le Dragon Rouge - Pau

A very friendly and helpful waiter helped my family to a comfortable table after a recommendation from our hotel. The waiter apologized for not having menus in English, however he was very good at explaining the dishes. We each ordered starters and one main to share between three. Thank goodness we did as the portions are large. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. We all enjoyed our French/Chinese dining experience however we were not tempted to order the curried frogs legs.

We visited this restaurant as the translation of the restaurant is Red Dragon and as we were in France watching the Welsh football team so thought it was the obvious choice.Both myself and my wife chose the set menu at €15 euro which consisted of 3 courses. We also ordered a caraffe of at €9.My wife had the chicken curry and I had the spicy chicken noodles as main meals both were very good. The restaurant wasn't that busy with 5-6 local couples eating.(Thursday evening)I would definitely recommend this restaurant for quality and value.

For a small restaurant, there was a varied menu, including Thai, Chinese as well as other cuisines. Visiting the town overnight,and searching for a decent meal aftera long drive, I saw a couple standing outside the restaurant, smoking. In schoolboy French I queried the restaurant. Turned out that they were waiting for their ‘Take Away’.Opted for a set meal, and whilst waiting saw numerous visits for take aways.... either the food was good, or it was the only Chinese in town. There are many Chinese Restaurants in the town, but this, I was informed, was the best.My food was good, tasty and more than plentiful, resulting in declining the dessert in favour of coffee.Fairly priced at around € 13, with the bonus that the owner speaks reasonable English.

I studied abroad in Pau, France January-May 2015. I lived two blocks away from this little restaurant and I went at least once a week. After class on most Wednesday nights, a large group would meet down town for le Dragon Rouge! Yes, the wait is long. Yes, there are, at most, 2 people working outside of the kitchen. However, the owners are very very nice and truly take care of their regulars. If you are studying abroad in Pau through USAC - I highly suggest this place if you are craving some Chinese food. And if you are just stopping by, make sure you have the few hours necessary for the full experience!

Copious dishes served with a small delay (we were in a hurry a little bit and we waited forty minutes to be served, so we ate in fifteen). Otherwise good food, we were full in the end of our lunch, reasonable prices also. I think we shall return.

From the outside you would expect the inside to be rather dismall You will not be disappointed the inside is sombre apart from the inevitable illuminated fish tank bubbling away, although there were no fish in it. However the food is very good the chicken in coconut milk is made from a combination of spices and vegetables and very good. Come here if you appreciate good food, which is incredibly cheap, however don't come if you feel likely to be affected by a rather sad environment.

Excellente cuisine , j ai adoré en particulier le potage pékinois , et le riz cantonnais , un délice , c est beaucoup mieux que certaines enseignes à buffet à volonté . Nous reviendrons sans problème .
