Le Douchka - Morzine

Family ski holiday in February 2017. Ate all week at Fontaines Blanche so last day was of a mind to try different restaurant. We have holidayed in this resort 20 years now and seen a lot in this time. Family consists of two adults and two young girls aged 9 and 11 years. After morning skiing the whole family sat on the decking and acknowledged the waitress and waited to be served. The restaurant was not busy. After 25 mins of being ignored I caught the attention of the male very very rude manager who also acknowledged us and did not return at all. After another 20 minutes of his ignorance my wife, family and I all agreed to leave which we did, and I promise will never return. Whilst leaving the Manager swore at us in front of children which is unacceptable. That was our last day on the holiday and that afternoon was going to be a blow out, bottle of wine probably two etc.. so only one loser here. Cannot comment on food as not tried, but bare in in mind I eat out a lot with work I know service is key. Poor poor service don't even darken this places door step. Sorry rant over!

Avoriaz seems very lacking in decent restaurants. Perhaps it's because it's the end of the ski season, perhaps it's the Brexit effect (joking!) but food here was beyond basic. The pierre chaud was running on 1 burner so took forever to cook the unattractive slabs of meat that had been provided. No vegetables to cook alongside the meat as I've experienced in other places. And the sauces offered seemed watered down. t's overpriced nonsense. The pizzas were ok and as I say the waitresses were very sweet.

Went in for a quick lunch. The Hamburger was surprisingly excellent - the best we ate here at Avoriaz (yet). Also had very good Lasagna and Caesar salad. The onion soup arrived cold and was a little disappointing. Service was quick and nice.

Good food with a good selection on the menu, however my first choice for food and drink was not available. I found the staff a little arrogant too.

Had a quick dinner after a long day of skiing. Bone marrow appetizer was very nice. Husband liked the duck "shepard's pie." I had lamb shank with mashed potatoes and veggies. Lovely sauce and overall tasty. pizza was just ok.

I visited this restaurant during Snowboxx festival a few times. We had meal vouchers entitling us to eat here and initially they were very skeptical and made us feel uncomfortable. The food was tasty and portion sizes generous. Waiting staff were lovely on the 2 occasions we ate in this restaurant.I also ordered take away pizzas and had a glass of wine in the heated outdoor seating area while I was waiting and thoroughly enjoyed this experience of the restaurant.

We went 2 years ago and the food and place were ok. This year we came back and the place was new with new furniture. The food was so good, I personally recommend the 4 cheese pizza.

Shocking food, service was incredibly poor and racist towards English speakers. Would highly recommend avoiding this place.
