Pointe de Nyon - Morzine

Situated close to the chair lift at the bottom of the "bowl" you can ski straight in and we had no trouble at all getting a table (12.30ish). It was a gloriously sunny day so we sat outside on the veranda and our waiter even provided straw hats to protect us from the sun!The food is good and plenty of it and service was spot-on - just what we wanted after a hard morning skiing. After lunch we moved to the deck chairs to soak up some more sun and were very entertained by a group who were practising some jumps on the slope just in front of the restaurant......and that bit cost nothing!!

Visited as a lunch stop during a recent ski trip and both my father and I were impressed.This isn't the cheapest restaurant on the mountain but then again there is no such thing as a cheap meal on the mountain!Even at peak lunch time we were seated very quickly and served very quickly too. 2 x Pizzas (€17 each) and 2 x Cafe Gourmand (€10 each) were all very good. Large diet Coke overpriced as is the still mineral water.Great location, good view of the piste and a real sun trap on the terrace, so much so that they even distribute straw hats to offer you a little respite from the blazing March sunshine!Lots of seating indoor and out, both areas offering comfortable dining. Facilities all very clean, if a little disappointed the bathrooms had run out of soap (thankfully prepared with alcohol hand gel #be prepared)Good spot on the mountain, would gladly use again.

I went here on a Saturday with a small group of friends to take a lunch break from skiing. We sat down around 12:30 and there was plenty of room. Our waitress was quick to assist us and our food came quickly.The food, however, was very mediocre. I ordered the Chanterelles mushroom pasta and it was practically flavorless. Whatever flavor it did have was not good; it could have used some salt perhaps but there was none at the table. The best way I can describe it is ramen noodles without flavoring.Everyone else at my table ordered a pizza. The pizzas were about the size of a plate and very thin, so easily finished by one person. No one in my group had an especially good pizza, they all found their food very average as well. Overall, not great quality for a very high price.In addition, there was "no tap water available" so we ended up paying 7 Euro for 1 Liter bottles to split. I also ordered the hot chocolate for 3.90 Euro which was also quite average.By the time we finished (around 2pm), the restaurant had filled up quite a bit and it took a while to hail our waitress to give us the check. I ended up not finishing my pasta at all. I cannot recommend this place unfortunately, the price is just too high for not-so-great food. Next time, I'll bring my own lunch.

Always go here on our annual trip to Morzine. If it's sunny well worth booking a table on the veranda as it gets very busy. Food is good, plat du jour always great or after a heavy night the pointe nyon omelette is absolutely perfect!!!

Just ordered a "fondue" for three ... wait for a long time and when it arrives just looked like a big chewing gum dive in white wine without any taste. Ask to the director what can we do with that ? Nothing because according to him it's the normal taste of the fondue. My counsel just never ever order for a fondue et I hope that you will be more successful with other dishes. I just can ad that my brother in law ordered a "salade perigourgine " which has no interest at ... and most of all we wait it for a long time.

Having returned to Morzine for our annual 'man-ski' ski trip we made a point of going back to Pointe de Nyon where we'd had a great lunch on the mountain the year before. We were not disappointed and this large and very busy restaurant located at the top of the Nyon lift (near the Inferno chalet) served up some fantastic food, quickly and with great service - way ahead of most mountaintop venues.The top-tip for this place has got to be the Plat du Jour which has been absolutely delicious both times of asking and amazing value at around 12 euro (obviously the dish will vary each day!).If you find yourself over this side of Morzine at lunchtime then I can't recommend this place enough. One 'heads up' though, my friends thought the strong French cheese used in the house burger to be a bit overpowering!

We stopped off here for a coffee ( well vin chaud!) and were so impressed we booked a table for lunch ( good job we did as it was rammed when we returned at 1)Some people had burger and chips ( huge portion, great quality) some had lasagne and one had onion soup which was all yummy. Great service, clean pleasant toilets and a great spot to stop off. We will definitely return here.

Our group has not visited this mountain restaurant on previous ski trips to Les Gets so we decided to give it a try this year. Although we were only visiting for an afternoon drink we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed quite the best vin chaud of the week's skiing. We'll be back for more substantial fare next year.
