We have eaten a number of times, more by necessity, than choice. Food can be good though very erratic. In contrast, the service is absolutely deplorable. Wine is often forgotten. Bread is sometimes provided at the end of the meal. Sauces are generously provided after the dish has been consumed. There is no oversight of the dining room as the "head waiter" spends his time staring out the window or the front door ignoring the tables. And to top it off, the chef has no interest in feedback from customers or for that matter whether they like or not what has been served.

We had previously eaten at Tantine et Tonton when the restaurant was located on the edge of town, and were impressed both by the food and the warm welcome offered by the staff. The food is still inventive, well presented and generally good, and the restaurant terrace is a pleasant place to sit. It is let down by the indifferent service. The waiter was clearly unimpressed by the fact that we did not want to order any alcohol and, when we asked for a carafe of water, he brought one that had not been chilled. The service remained perfunctory throughout the meal.

We had booked a month in advance but were sat right next to an electric box outside....it was my birthday so felt uncomfortable in complaining .We sat for 25minutes until a waiter came to take our order .it became clear that they were over booked and couldn't cope.We won't go again .

The diminutivive auntie of the Hotel Moderne et Pigeon restaurant and overseen by the resident chef of the hotel, consistently great quality food, best in the summer when one can sit in the square as the upstairs inside restaurant is a little less atmospheric

The food here is excellent, wine selection also very good - all extremely reasonably priced. The location and setting are great including secluded patio for outdoor dining. This is potentially a fantastic restaurant. However the place is let down by very poor front of house which was inattentive, lacking warmth and contributed to a lack of atmosphere overall. Not surprising then to see the place half empty on a Friday night before Christmas. I rarely write a review here, but just felt this delicious food and setting deserves better!

This is the best place in Limoux for lunch, in my view. Although more expensive than the restaurants on the main square, the food is beautifully presented and generally very good indeed. What brings it down? Two things - one is the very surly waiter, whose manner is a complete contrast to all the other staff and the other is the cheeky pricing policy of the menu, which contains several items with a supplément, often quite a hefty one.

I would like to reinforce the comments made by the previous reviewer. It is a great shame that one of the restaurants offering better food in Limoux has such a poor front of house. Whatever the quality of the cuisine, we would certainly be unable to recommend Tantine because of the unfriendly and unhelpful attitude of the maitre d.' In this case we did all we could to minimise any embarrassment on the part of the restaurant by avoiding direct reference to the unpleasant smell in the courtyard by simply requesting a move to the interior room of the restaurant. Perhaps we should have been more explicit, but I very much doubt that the response would have been any better.

Would love to review the food at this restaurant but found the head waitor to be so rude that we left without ordering, something I have never done before. We were shown to our table on the terrace by a very pleasant member of staff who took our drinks order and whilst waiting for these we became aware of a rather unpleasant smell from the drains and decided to ask to be moved inside which was empty. Our waitor said he would have to refer our request to the head waitor and we heard no more for some time. We repeated our request but were told by the helpful young waitor that he didn't yet have an answer for us, not that difficult one would have thought! Eventually the head waitor daned to come to our table and wanted a reason for our request before very off handedly indicating that we could move. In this standard of restaurant one might of expected a little more interest in our comfort. Upshot was we found a table on our own but felt so unwelcome that we decided to eat else where. May I suggest if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Limoux you go L'Odalisque where you eat wonderful food and receive a very warm welcome. I feel sorry for the owner of T et T as they missed out on a sizeable addition to there revenue because of their rude waitor.
