Tan Shi - Le Lavandou

My wife and i went to this restaurant after reading trip advisor comments on this place What a mistake !! The food was really not good the service was poor and the bill was expensive !We do not recommend this restaurant !

Very friendly family-run restaurant, excellent quality and great choice of Vietnamese and Japonese dishes, good value, lovely calm setting with a sea view. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next night!

I went there with my familiy and we were the first guests that evening due to the early hour. It took them (patron couple with little kid) a while to get going and we had to ask for ordering, remind them of pending orders and another round of drinks. As the restaurant was empty this was remarkable. Food was ok but nothing more. Atmosphere (outside) has headroom as well (plastic tables & chairs). One woman show (cook, waitress) and she was very nice. Vegetarian dish was quite good, however. We got our calories and were out again.

We were the only table on a Monday night so we out out table by the open gate and enjoyed an unobstructed view of the sea until a car parked and blocked it. The outdoor seating area was very pleasant and tranquil with soft lighting and an Asian fountain, which made the visit enjoyable. Mgmt should invest in outdoor heaters now that the temperature has dropped. We did not try the Japanese dishes but ordered Pho (Vietnamese) and Bulgogi (Korean BBQ). The Pho I would not recommend because it was too salty, had strange spice (cardamom pods) and the serving was not particularly generous - although it was enough since it wasn't so tasty like traditional pho with thin rice noodles and fresh veggies. The BBQ was generous on the other hand and well presented. The green tea pannacotta was very good too. Because the Zen garden is so nice I would return to try the sushi and perhaps teppanyaki as I think the Japanese cuisine is more of the chefs' specialty. Prices for the main courses are reasonable but starters and soups put the whole meal on the pricey side, but I suppose nothing in the south of France is good value. Service was good .... But what can I say we were in our own private dining room!

This restaurant is new in Le Lavandou and we tried it since we love Japanese. We took a Korean dish and it was delicious. The food was very tasty, the service perfect and the surrounding peaceful and quiet with a lovely fountain. In addition, the view on the sea is gorgeous.

another fantastic dinner here in the Asian restaurant. the food was absolutely delicious, freshly made with high quality products. the best restaurant in the city.

had a very tasty menu with beautiful wine. nicely cooked and presented by friendly hosts. just what we wanted for a quick lunch while we spend the day on the beach.
