I had the loveliest lunchtime meal with my sister in this restaurant. The service was friendly and the food was exquisite. We had a gastronomic menu ( she had won this in a competition, lucky us)! and the starter itself was a voyage of discovery. A beautifully presented plate of 3 crab raviolis, some queen scallops and a smooth slice of foie gras ( smoked salmon for my sister.) It was so copious we thought we would not have space for our main! The fish dish that followed proved us wrong. A gorgeous piece of turbot and some sole fillets with an assortment of steamed vegetables, served with a safran and truffle sauce, a delicate and very successful plate. By then we were thankful to have a little time before our dessert came. The quatro of home made sweets did not disappoint either. A little apple cake, some red fruit compote, an hazelnut mousse and a calvados granité ( the perfect palate cleanser.) We complimented the chef in person at the end of the meal and left feeling that this was a place well worth another visit. The other diners near us also looked very happy with their food and the comments we heard were all positive so it was not just us. A very successful lunch to celebrate a special day.
