My wife and I arrived here very late for lunch, having spent much time discovering that most of the other top restaurants in the area seem to be closed on Tuesdays, but we were welcomed and ushered politely to an outdoor table. After sitting there for a few minutes in hot sunshine (no parasols were available, unfortunately, and one of us tends to get sunstroke rather easily) we asked whether we might sit indoors and were accommodated immediately. This largish restaurant has a modern ambience, despite being part of an old building, but is pleasant, well-decorated with attractive oil-paintings (for sale) of the locality, and the interior can't be faulted, although usually we prefer to eat in places with a more "period" feeling to them. The service was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. My wife had hot goat's-cheese salad as her main course, although it's actually intended to be an entrée, and pronounced it to be "first class". My duck breast was superb, even though I'd forgotten to ask for it to be well-done, and the accompanying frites were among the best I've eaten.Excellent coffee, too!
