I have reviewed this place before and I am happy to say that it still remains a great place for either lunch or dinner. You are greeted by a warm and genuinely friendly host in Steve. The food offers a good range of options and there is a reasonable selection of wines. It sits right on the square in Eymet and you can sit under the shade of the Arcad and watch the world go past as you sit and enjoy the tasty food. Well worth a stop if you are in Eymet.
Un très bon restaurant gastronomique. Nous sommes allés une nuit par semaine et avons pu profiter de la terrasse pour passer une agréable soirée avec un bon repas. La serveuse nous accueille avec un sourire et présente l'ardoise, le choix est difficile car il présente bien les plats. Dans l’apéritif, je opte pour la boisson du chef (très bon choix). Pour commander le menu, c'est le chef qui vient prendre la commande. Le choix est compliqué parce qu'il met de l'eau à la bouche sur chaque choix

We went to La Bastille for my dad's birthday. It's the second time we've been there. The food is very good. Nice ingredients, well prepared. The only reason it's not a 5* is I'm being stricter about who gets 5*s and the main could have been more flavoursome. Three courses are 27 euros, plus a couple extra for choosing the fois gras and faux filletBonus points for having a high chair and children's menuThe fois gras was excellent. We walked in off the street to a warm friendly atmosphere and had a drink with the host and owner who is still developing the place after taking it over relatively recently. It was a garage and the host has decorated the place in the theme of a garage. It works well. We returned for a drink and the open mike night. It was loads of fun and we even got on stage and did a couple of songs. The locals are friendly and we enjoyed ourselves. Although the kitchen is newly established we left the next day and did not get a chance to sample the food. We will on the next visit.
