If you are looking for the best restaurant in Vence, this it! We've been coming to La Cassolette for the last 10 years, and never been disappointed. The food is exquisite, perfect value for money. Any variation of lobster is their signature: go for it without an hesitation. The restaurant is run by Rosa, who waits, and her husband, the Chef. Lovely couple, feels like being at home.

We found this restaurant on our trip to Vence in 2013 and it was on our list for a return visit four years later. And the good thing to report is that it's just as good as we remembered! Great food in a small restaurant with tables outside in a traffic free square in the old part of Vence. We think it's a husband and wife team and both work very hard - him in the kitchen and her serving - and yes there is a short wait for service but it's worth it!

Had lunch here 12 June; especially attracted by 38 euros menu dish of bass with strawberry and ginger; received menus and ordered lunch; five minutes later were told the bass was not available and offered tune instead; surely it would have been courteous to tell us when giving the menus the dish was not available? The under chef came out and stood right in front of the entrance having his desperate cigarette and playing with the local cat; not a good impression and we can only hope he washed his hands when he went back to work.We were sat on the terrace and I was able to turn and see straight through the restaurant to the kitchen; interesting to see the chef vaping in the kitchen. And this place is in Michelin Guide

Some imaginative dishes in a nice location on a main square (so probably better in the evening while works are going on nearby).

Friendly welcome and given a lovely table on the terrace situated outside the front of the restaurant in the historic village. A must on a summers evening. Blankets available if necessary. A great choice of dishes. Every one mouthwatering. My choice was lobster on a bed of avocado & apple finished with a passion fruit jus. Exquisite combination. The chocolate mouse on a bed of brownie is out of this world. You just have to experience this restaurant.

Truly the work of an artist, La Cassoulette's dishes were beautiful in concept, taste, and visual pleasure. An Amuse Bouche of carrot purée and whipped cream was a delightful surprise. An entree of grenouilles were fresh and tiny, a pile in a green parsley creme 'pond' that was both an experience and a taste sensation. We also had grilled calamari and risotto that was a perfect dream of flavors. Pure pleasure of ambience, charm, simplicity of decor and genuine warmth. Cannot recommend it more highly.

We had lunch in this tiny restaurant ( only 14. chairs). During summer they have a terras in the shade, but now we were sitting inside and our lunch was excellent! A little bit too much for both of us ( and we are not exactly known as small eaters) and the choose of wines was very limited and not really impressive, but those are the only two small remarques we can make. the saumon we had as main course, in cole leaves and with mushrooms, came with a high level sauce. The avocado starter was very fresh and in combination with apple , shrimps and some crab salade, a real surprise! We certainly will come back!
