Also a logis, but we only ate there and we're glad we did. It was a Sunday evening and many restaurants in Tournon sur Rhone were closed, but this opened at 19.00 and did not disappoint. The welcome was warm, the building was a quaint old beamed place and the food lovely.

On trip advisor this is described as a gastro pub, it isn't.It is a traditional restaurant attached to a hotel. The food is good, I enjoyed tomatoes with mozzarella, lamb chops and creme caramel all excellent and for a reasonable price. Some time in the last century electricity was installed but you get the impression that they haven't really got used to it yet and the lighting levels are the equivalent of candles. It all adds to the charm.

Delightful unpretentious food, tasty and tasteful, and extraordinarily good value. We ate here three years ago, have remembered its excellence and returned to eat, and to stay in the hotel. We'll be back again!

As a vegetarian France is not always very good. Indeed in this case there was the option of a mushroom omelette . But what an omelette! Served beautifully with Pommes Lyonnaise, a carrot and courgette. I was a hotel guest but they were turning casual diners without bookings away!

No real complaints here, this is a typical slightly dated French establishment. The staff were efficient and friendly and helpful. The menu reasonably wide and a good wine list. So why the average score you may ask? Well we all spotted the bargain set menu for 19.50 and three courses, what caught our eye was the foie de veau...a favourite. The starter was a very nice light salad with smoked salmon, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and egg actually very tasty. Alas the no one asked how we wanted the veal liver cooked so we assumed it would be pink and super tender, maybe the serrated knives that came were a give away but while it was tasty it was ov er cooked and quite firm, the veg which looked rather stewed as just sauteed zucchini but not to order and had been cooked off much earlier....so only average I'm afraid. We had ice cream for dessert and that was fine. The value for money however cannot be faulted but then again you get what you pay for!

We stumbled into this restaurant out of the rain and though we had only rudimentary French skills, they were happy to help us find a delicious dinner. Friendly helpful service, and delicious hearty food. The atmosphere is charming old world French and the wine selections were top notch.
