Le Chantemer - Sète

Très bien! 1 et jour de réouverture et pourtant la carte est conséquente. Le maquereau mariné est parfait! Goûtu a souhait! Quant à l’encornet farci ricotta- épinards et son riz noir… tout est excellent et frais a souhait. Je n’ai pas parlé de l’accueil, qui est très sympathique et chaleureux, en ce jour de tempête !

Le restaurant dispose d'une terrasse couverte et agréable. Bonne cuisine, produits frais. Service sympathique.

Dont' go in a hurry, don't go on overcrowded day in the city (festival etc)this place is best enjoyed under following conditions:1) after sunset2) with decent appetite3) with good company4) relaxed frame of mindthen you can fully enjoy the host's welcome, his advice, well prepared tasty local food, and drink accordingly Have a nice visit !

We looked around before we settled on this restaurant, and I am very gald that we did. The owner was very friendly and spoke perfect English which was a plus because we had to ask a number of times what the different dishes were on the blackboard menu. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sides were very tasty. Both my sons said this was one of the best meals they had all holiday. It was fantastic value.

Dishes are made depending on what the fisherman can propose that day. So the menu is different every day and you have the guarantee of freshly fished fish. Look for these restaurants that state "poisson sauvage" to avoid supermarket or frozen fish. On top of that you have here a real chef who makes inventive and affordable food.

We had looked at several restaurants with very similar menus but decided we wanted something a little more interesting. We liked the look of the set menu at Le Chantemer and decided to try it. When we got inside the blackboard menu was even more interesting so we chose from this and were not disappointed. We had sweet and sour mackerel and stuffed mussels for starters and then tagliatelle with cigales which was delicious. The owner was very friendly and we would definitely recommend.

Have been to Sete a few times and always go to eat at Le Chantemer - delicious food and look forward to the dessert and limoncello at the end of the night. Owner always comes to chat and is very friendly. Recommend highly!
