Booked for lunch for a family reunion of 10 of us. Excellent service, beautiful dining space overlooking the terrace. The steaks were amazing as was the asparagus with mushroom dressing.

We dined here at the recommendation of our B&B hosts and were not disappointed. The service was courteous and friendly, but of a high standard. The owner by his own admission did not speak much English, but his chef did and she translated the menu for us. We ate from the set menu (two choices in each of three courses) for 22EUR. Very good value for the excellent quality.

Excellent dinner at this restaurant. Beautiful ambiance. Super wine selection. Incredible food. We loved our selections- lobster risotto, st pierre fish and lamb. Very friendly service by owner! Amazing!!

Le Cheval Blanc is beautifully decorated. The service was also great, besides the fact that the wait staff didn't speak very good English. The chef was also very flexible and prepared a vegetarian meal especially for me (as there weren't any options on the menu). It was good, but I wasn't overly impressed. On the other hand, my boyfriend was talking about his veal dish for the rest of the weekend. Needless to say, Cheval Blanc is worth a visit.

We tried this restaurant in our way to Epernay. We liked the set-up & expected a "hidden gem", but I guess it was just another restaurant in the area: service not particularly friendly, food ok, but quite pricey - briefly: nothing special.

Having known and stayed at this hotel/restaurant a few times in its former state, we were well aware that the lovely rooms over the other side of the road in the renovated mill had been sold and that the restaurant was in new hands. The rooms are now a Gite and the restaurant has changed dramatically not only in style but also in terms of their menu. The previous owners had a list of Champagnes to die for but maybe that's why they sold up! We miss the old style which is perhaps unfair on the new brigade but reality!Down to the menu. Starters - foie gras, lobster and duck as mains, with a bottle of Bouzy Rouge. The police are around in force in the area, so do be careful what you drink. The food was well-prepared and presented, the service was good but the whole place lacks that Je ne sais quoi........what a shame as they have no doubt invested heavily in the new (very modern) decor and there is not much choice in the area.

Good job throughout. They are not aiming for a Michelin star as they want more freedom and flexibility but with slightly more emphasis on plating, they could be a thoroughly interesting place.Good flavours and excellent sauces; classical French food that simply works. Great wine list especially on the local Champagne side (Bubbly and red).Dessert was monodimensional but very good. Different approach from what I'm used to but nice. Probably very appreciated by locals.I would work on table design (some kind of receptacle for the bread, funkier plates) and not serve a Kinder with coffee, but that's just being picky!

Le Cheval Blanc reopened last year as a restaurant only , having closed as a hotel a couple of years earlier. We had missed it on recent visits to the champagne region - which is not as gastronomically well-served as you might expect. Sunday lunch was delicious from start to finish with the most delectable Parmesan tarts and cheese and tomato puff pastry quills as amuse-bouches on arrival. It's also exceptionally good value at 29 euro for the three course lunch. We started with asparagus fuellite which came with smoked salmon on the forced asparagus and a yummy sauce. My husband's main course braised beef was dark and rich and astonishingly tender. I ate a fair bit of it as my chicken had arrived adorned with inexplicable layers of shrimp (last major seafood meal saw me in hospital for a couple of days- so that wasn't on) still, the maître d' was most understanding and I had scarcely polished off a significant proportion of hubby's beef before the chicken in estragon sauce with delicious rice arrived. Had to share it a bit of course - though eventually had to fight husband off. We amicably shared crepes Suzette and a sable with rhubarb and strawberries however. Good coffee too. A grand lunch in the French style.
