We were hunting for a place to eat and found this gem. It was just so good. Nice attentive staff who were pleasant throughout. It makes such a difference. The food was great. This restaurant is well worth a visit, the food is amazing value and the wine is also good. It's hard to find a better restaurant in this area for the value. The serve was also good! Try it !!

Stupidly, I ordered steak, and French beef is notoriously bad - mine was dreadful. However everybody else at my table (there were 11 of us) ate well, and the atmosphere was pleasant and the overall food good. The waitress treated us to a lecture about how good French food is - why do they think that? She even announced that in England we eat eel with mint sauce !!!! Bless.

Appelé sur le chemin du retour à Cognac, après une journée à la côte. Accueil chaleureux par un personnel enthousiaste et savouré un excellent repas "Menu du Jour". J'ai dégusté un succulent jarret d'agneau avec une sélection de légumes et de pommes de terre et ma partenaire a opté pour le bœuf - un choix inhabituel, mais elle a vraiment apprécié. Les desserts étaient merveilleux et la carte des vins bonne et pas chère. Excellent service par des gens chaleureux et affables. Une expérience vraiment agréable, - Une que nous reviendrons lors d'un prochain séjour à Saintes.

Visited for dinner with 2 friends visiting from the UK. Prompt and friendly service and our waitress was very patient as we ordered in very bad French trying to explain one of us had food intolerance to certain things. They adapted the dishes for her well and we had a fabulous meal. The fillet steak cut like butter! This is a very nice Brasserie with a very good quality/price rapport.

Lovely place, we sat outside and enjoyed the enclosed terrace area. The place had a really nice relaxed atmosphere with great service. The café gourmand was especially nice!

Having enjoyed lunch at this restaurant I had been wanting to visit for an evening meal for some time, but as we run a Chambres D'Hotes in Saintes evenings out are rare! The menu had a good choice of starters, mains and desserts, the option being for 2 or 3 courses. As with our previous visit the food was really very good. My partners steak 'cut like butter' and my braised lamb shank was moist and tender. We opted for desserts also this time and they did not disappoint. A very nice brasserie with a lovely terrace under the Tilliul (Linden) tree.

This restaurant has a pleasant patio area and as it was a warm evening we chose a table outside. The menu was not extensive but I had no difficulty in finding something. My starter was a gratin dish of leeks and scallops which was extremely good followed by a seafood brochette. The cooking was adequate but certainly not exceptional and the service was very good. With a small carafe of wine the bill came to 46 euros which I thought was good value overall.
