Des plats simples en apparence mais quel goût ! Des saveurs authentiques, des équilibres de caractère, des portions généreuses. Une belle découverte et un accueil aux petits oignons. Merci
This informal gathering place for local artists, opposite the Museum of Pottery, has recently changed hands and has developed a more elaborate restaurant-style menu. The interior rooms are cheerful and brightly decorated with local art, and there is a pleasant shaded terrace for outdoor dining. The lunch on our visit was excellent, although service was slow considering the fact that we were the only customers when we first arrived. Lunch, dinner and breakfast are served, and tapas may be ordered between meal times. With its excellent location and talented chef, we felt that this restaurant might attract more tourists if it offered a more varied menu, bistro-style.
The couple who welcomed us were very warm and solicitous. They graciously tolerated our very poor french and provided excellent and friendly service making our dinner a very pleasant experience. As non meat eaters they provide sufficient alternatives for us to have a very tasty and enjoyable meal. The tiny salty fish with a green salad was a great starter as was the goats cheese salad. Our main of asparagus ravioli was delicious.Coffee was accompanied with little macaroons and other little pastries as unexpected extras.An unpretentious and very enjoyable dinner experience for very moderate prices giving good value for money.
Four of us went here for dinner. We had a superb meal. For starters I had beetroot soup, and for main course I had a seafood mixture with cabbage. It is extremely difficult to describe how good the food is, especially as the menu is built up with mundane ingredients to make something special.The three course fixed price menu changes every day, so it's not possible to describe any individual dishes, but rest assured they will be something special.
The café is a bit hidden on a side street. As you go in you walk through lovely small rooms to end up on "la terasse".A nice shady garden welcomes you. We ordered the menu du jour. my husband had the eggplant dish for entrée( hors d'oeuvre in N.A.). It was delicious. I tasted it too. As main. course we both had the taggliatelles with zucchini in a tapenade sauce. It was superb.The zucchinis were very thinly sliced lenghwise, barely cooked, to a nice crunch. They looked like green and white ribbons. Really beautiful.For dessert I had a tarte aux poires. Only fresh,and locally produced ingredients are used in the preparation of the food. My tastebuds thanked me for it!The service is a bit slow as everything is freshly made. Of course the bread is so very good. All this for €16 each.
We ate here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. They offer 3 plates of the day, one meat, one fish and one vegetarian. The food is fresh and very good. We watched a blues band on the Saturday night - it was an organised event which included a 3 course meal. A very fun night with good music, a nice vibe and happy customers. Service can be a little slow but it is worth the wait and you get to sit in a fun, colourful courtyard, sipping your preferred tipple as you wait.
It a small, casual venue (garden in the back) serving simple, excellent lunch time options when you need a break. They offers a short menu using local ingredients. Will return... managed only 15 of the 24 or so poteries at St Quentin and spent money in 4? maybe 5.
Le Cafe des Potiers was excellent. My family had gone on a long bike ride all morning and by the time we got to StQuentin la Poterie and stumbled upon Le Cafe des Potiers we were starving. We walked in and it was very quaint with small colorful tables and chairs all around the front room. A woman welcomed us and told us to follow her. We walked through another room beyond the kitchen and then out onto patio. The patio had many more colorful metal chairs and tables strewn about, but the best part were the beautiful flowers on the walls and clinging to metal wires covering the whole outdoor eating space. The stone walls all around made us feel very European and cozy.For the appetizer, we ordered a mushrooms with melted goat cheese dish. It was delicious. While eating, it was wonderful to think about the million perfect flavors in our mouths but it was even better knowing that it was all organic and local!For the main course, my mom got the vegetarian dish. It looked very nice. It had a wonderful assortment of vegetables and salad, and also a flan. My dad and I both got the meat dish. It was pork with curry sauce and rice. It also came with a salad. The flavors were perfect and quite delicious. Eating in such a welcoming and sweet environment was the most excellent way to top it all off. We did not have dessert but the ice cream they had on the menu looked divine. The service was very good, too. The waiter spoke English, and even though we try to speak French as much as we can, her English skills were very helpful and convenient. I recommend Le Cafe des Potiers to everyone in or near St Quentin la Poterie! It's an absolute and very delicious must!
