L'Amphora - Sablé-sur-Sarthe

A great little Italian restaurant in the middle of the town. Super service from staff. Food of good quality and great selections on the menu card. A great place to dine, it's not super fancy but it's great.

Not many places to have dinner in Sablé, this italian / french restaurant is not amazing but serves nice decent food. I only tried the pizza but from looking around its what seems best to have. it was quite cheap as well

This is a great little Italian restaurant - when we tired of French food, we gave it a try for lunch - and enjoyed the food so much we booked dinner two nights later and loved our dinner too. Easy to find and free parking is right across the street in the square.

we parked in the park place de republique to visit la terrase, which was closed for the annual holiday. we returned to the car, hungry and disappointed when we noticed amphora, only 50m from where we parked. the loss of la terrase was definitiw. our win! amphora is beautiful. we were warmly welcomed at the arrival. the interior decoration is beautiful with really attractive trumpet l'oeil paintings and bright wood furniture. the menu is predominantly pizza and pasta with 1/2 doz other main dishes. my son and I had brasseola and anti-paper for the starter and the portions were very generous. oh and dd had oeufs on cocose, which was "full English with mild curry sauce" and absolutely delicious. all main dishes pasta were served very well and again in generous portions. there was a good selection of desserts and it was really nice to see the homemade ones displayed on the menu. I had rested and it was a 'profi 'tiramisu (we 've some bizarre tiamisu concoctions, while in france! all in all beautiful eating in a beautiful environment.
