On first appearance this is a hip fun place to be, colourful and well appointed. In reality it is a big disappointment......the restaurant looks nice but the food is awful, there is no proper 'chef' or 'cook' but an array of people without any training or natural ability cook each night. For vegetarians they only ever give a boring omelette, steaks are generally tough and very overcooked but the menu leaves a lot to be desired...its just a glorified snack i.e. ma's and pa's but not as good. they are un able to offer anything for vegans, gluten free or people with any slight dietary restrictions.....even a plain green salad is a challenge with greasy chips being a vegetable! However they do have a trained pastry chef who makes deserts, sweets, chocolates and pastries to die for....delicious.The bar is pleasant with not much going on but they seem to serve alcohol without a care to the individuals requesting it!! so often a lot of drunks which is not pleasant. The hostel /bunks are quite cleverly built, comfortable but the loo/showers are difficult to manage so if handicapped in any way or with small children this could be a problem. The outdoor seating is very nicely done. Be warned not to get involved with the staff/owner as they are not all they seem and do talk about their customers out of turn, disclosing information they shouldn't and could turn violent/ aggressive on you. Its in a lovely small village in a lovely location. Good parking. I wouldn't say avoid it but tread carefully. we have not personally stayed there but had friends who did but we have had dinner a good few times, lunch , coffees/teas and pastries, chocolates etc, we have gone with friends, family as a couple, solo and on business....from experience do check your bill is correct!! We will not be patronising this place again! .....if a cheapish overnighter with grub you are not concerned about it could be the place for you but if you want decent grub, respect and a pleasant night out skip it.
