We went full of hope and expectation after reading glowing reviews of the restaurant and having visited it under previous owners over the last 15 years. However, we were very disappointed. The white wine was served warm and too much salt was used in the cooking. My husband, a hamburger connoisseur, rated his dish 'ordinary'. The rest of has had the enchiladas which were acceptable. We will not be going back soon.
No matter if you go there for Lunch or dinner or if you just pass by this wonderful area with your bike... you will meet a gent couple with a smile who are running the place.She is cooking home made French style dishes with fresh ingrediences from nearby - or - if you're fancy about american dishes, just choose the burger or the ribs (only weekend) and you will be surprised! I'd never expected this here and it was my best burger ever (proofed by my wife on our 2nd visit).Thanks and hopefully soon again!
Four of us locals sat down to a scrumptious meal at Le Smile and we were very happy with every single dish. Great mix of French and American cuisines, super friendly welcome and service. The men had hamburgers, the women had one lasagna with salmon (no pasta!) and one steak. The fries were perfect and we still had room for dessert too- a very light lemon mille feuilles we'd eat again any time and an exotic fruit tiramisu. The choice of wines was very good as well. Let's see, how soon can we go back?? Hurray for Caroline and Jimmy!
The food was excellent, using local produce to prepare food that was based on French traditions with a hint of US influence. La patronne is of French heritage brought up in the USA, but returning to her roots.The view from the terrace is spectacularI have no hesitation in recommending it.
Had a great meal here, we went for dinner here tonight and the food was superb! We had an amazing lemon chicken with capers and olives, potatoes and green beans. The chicken was really tender - delicious! The kids has a choice of plain grilled chicken or steak with fries. My 2 chose the chicken, they loved it - empty plates within 10 mins!!! Smiles all round ;-)!
Nous sommes arrivés à 23 heures pour le déjeuner et on nous a dit qu'il ne restait plus que des salades. Les portions étaient énormes mais pas spectaculaires. Les frites étaient incroyablement salées. Mais l'emplacement était bon. Superbes vues.
