After two weeks of excellent food and service in the restaurants of Portiragnes and Portiragnes Plage we happened upon this place after a windy morning on the beach. Shocking. We arrived more than half an hour before the kitchen was due to close and made sure to ask for a table for two adults and two kids. We were pointed to a table by a surly member of staff. Before the afternoon was done she had slopped wine over the table and found someone else to take the order. She did enjoy her cigarette though after settling herself down on the other side of the restaurant, when finally she broke her face. It seems that the rest of the team were looking forward to their fags too. The seafood was undercooked and unappealing, the wine warm, and even the chips were a mess. The bread was convincingly sliced to be fair and there was lots of it. Needless to say the only time the staff looked interested is when they brought the €70 bill. Food bad, service awful, nice view of the car park though. Portiragnes Plage has plenty of other lovely places to eat with great food and attentive staff, and a short stroll or cycle away will take you to Portiragnes itself where we had an excellent lunch yesterday at Chez Jeff, where the oysters and mussels were outstanding.
