U Campanile - Piana

One of the cheaper ones in Piana and you will now why. Stuff is friendly and helpful, but the food is very moderate. If you travel on small budget it is worth cosidering, else I'd recommend looking further.

Firstly the waitress was very impatient that we hadn't chosen what we wanted within 2 minutes of sitting down. She came back 2 minutes later and threw her notepad down down on the next table, stroppy because we still hadn't decided. We both ordered steak, mine I asked for 'well done'. When it came out, both were swimming with blood and barely cooked. I sent mine back to be cooked again. Probably shouldn't have bothered as they were both so tough and inedible, we couldn't eat yhem. My husband went to the toilet just before dinner and told me not to go in them as they looked like they hadn't been cleaned all summer season. Please do not venture here, it was utterly appalling.

Avoid this place! It is no good even for a quick cup of coffee, which was awful. In general I recommend to pass through the village of Piana. The road is awesome, but the village is shabby and of no interest at all.

Stopped off in the town driving along the coast and this place looked OK for lunch - set above the town square opposite the church and with some decent views. Looked to have a number of locals eating; certainly mostly French people.Service was a little erratic but quite friendly, food decent without being particularly good and reasonable portions for the price.Nothing great about it but nothing bad either - wouldn't hurry back but wouldn't avoid either.

Unfortunately we went into this restaurant. The location is actually quite nice overlooking the village square in Piana, but this is literally the only positive we could find.The first impression was a waitress who it was a pain for that she had to serve us. This contunied through the rest of the time spent at the place.The drinks were warm. We ordered salads and expected decent meal sizes for 11,50 EUR and a Gargantua Salad and all what I got was a bit bigger than a side salad with half an egg, half a tomato and 4 slices of corsican meats. Still hungry I decided to order dessert, asking the waitres whether there is something home made. I was answered there would be Tarte au Brocciu, a kind of cheese cake with local ricotta style cheese. Not only that it was 100% a convenience product, the slice wasnot really big, was served probably just defrosted and then I was charged 6.50 EUR for it. I really dont mind paying that for a dessert, even more if the quality is good - but what we were served in this place was not even worth a tenth of what we paid for.A rip off - we should have realised there were only tourists in this place. Locals went somewhere else.A definite "Never again".

We ate there one evening in a 5 day visit to Corsica. It was easily the best food we had on Corsica but we were generally disappointed in food on Corsica. At Campanile we had typical Corsican cuisine. The service was good and friendly and the food was tasty and served at an appropriate temperature. The wait for food was neither overly long nor rushed. I would recommend to others.

Menu TRÈS basique (ce ne sera pas votre repas le plus mémorable en France, mais pas une déception totale non plus).

Nous nous y sommes arrêtés juste pour une glace et une boisson. Nous avons bien aimé la terrasse brumisée par 35degres !!! et des petits pots de glace Corse!
