We ate here twice during our stay in Normandy as it was the closest town to the village where we were based. The staff were friendly and although the menu was simple, the food was pleasant and reasonably priced. We particularly liked the chips. Helpfully, the staff bought the children's meals out as soon as they were ready, so the kids didn't have to wait very long.

I was waiting for the bank to open in Periers so decided to have a spot of lunch. La Brasserie looked inviting and there were several locals already eating there. The service was quick and pleasant. A young lady called Amanda served me who was English and spoke fluent French. The young waiter was very attentive too and had a welcoming smile. The food was good value and cooked well, I chose the plat du jour. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and I will definitely return. I will try having dinner here with my husband next time.

Without a doubt THE worst meal I have eaten in France...steak wasn't seasoned and was grey!...the frittes were greasy and soggy...I soon realised why we were the only people eating there. Be nice to yourself...go get a kebab!!!!!

We scouted the restaurant from the reviews earlier on the week when we went for a coffee. At that time service was prompt and polite. A quick glance at the menu was enough for us to plan an evening meal. We arrived just after 7 and met with friendly service. The Chef ( Baptiste) was cordial and made the effort to speak to us. We ordered from the ever so helpful Stephanie whose knowledge of English was enough to guide us as to what was available. We had seperate starters of tuna and smoked trout with toast and mixed leaf salad. That was followed by the mixed grill of meats and another of roast salmon. Yummy! Desert was a fruit salad and chocolate mousse. By the end of the meal, washed down with the house white we dared to extend our eating with a shared cheese course, a Jack Daniels and large white coffee. I think we left absolutely stuffed. I am giving this five stars because of the value, speed of service, the ambiance ( after we asked for a smoother background music) . This is traditional Brasserie cooking, simple, cheap, cheerful and delicious. AND YUMMY! Periers ( the small town) should be proud to have such a restaurant. We will definitely be coming back to try a lunchtime treat.

I came here with a good friend for lunch. We were welcomed by the efficient waitress into the well-lit and decorated restaurant. It has an elegant simplicity. As it was autumn and somewhat blustery, we sat inside. We had the table d'hote menu and it was really good; the food well cooked and presented. It was a little 'bistronomique', so not massive portions, but good value for money and filling enough. We were quite early, the first in there that day, but within 15 minutes, the place was full, testament to its popularity with locals and tourists alike.
