We scouted the restaurant from the reviews earlier on the week when we went for a coffee. At that time service was prompt and polite. A quick glance at the menu was enough for us to plan an evening meal. We arrived just after 7 and met with friendly service. The Chef ( Baptiste) was cordial and made the effort to speak to us. We ordered from the ever so helpful Stephanie whose knowledge of English was enough to guide us as to what was available. We had seperate starters of tuna and smoked trout with toast and mixed leaf salad. That was followed by the mixed grill of meats and another of roast salmon. Yummy! Desert was a fruit salad and chocolate mousse. By the end of the meal, washed down with the house white we dared to extend our eating with a shared cheese course, a Jack Daniels and large white coffee. I think we left absolutely stuffed. I am giving this five stars because of the value, speed of service, the ambiance ( after we asked for a smoother background music) . This is traditional Brasserie cooking, simple, cheap, cheerful and delicious. AND YUMMY! Periers ( the small town) should be proud to have such a restaurant. We will definitely be coming back to try a lunchtime treat.
