A fantastic meal for two in a lovely setting. We chose the bistrot as opposed to the restaurant as although cheaper, it offered a greater choice. There is a good range of fish and meat dishes. The set 3 course menu is great value at 32 Euros. Highly recommended.

We ate here tonight and this is a real find in Montpellier. The atmosphere is lovely and is very calm and interesting. The staff are great and have a good style in their approach. I started with the mozzarella which was probably one of the best starters I have ever eaten anywhere. We both had the duckling which although good was over cooked for me (I wondered afterwards if they assumed I would like over cooked because of my accent I.e. English speaking). My husband had the Grand Marnier soufflé which was devine but he wanted an Armagnac and was not offered an after dinner drink as when he raised his hand the bill was delivered. This is a superb restaurant and I would return. Not inexpensive but definitely worth it.

We discovered this place by chance while visiting the beautiful old Montpellier. There is a restaurant inside and a bistro in a cute garden surrounded by historical walls. We liked everything in the restaurant :The modern decor, the food, the wine and the friendly staff.I highly recommend it.

We always try and fine a nice restaurant to finish off our holiday and this had been recommended by hotel staff and also via Michelin. It didn't disappoint. Sat outside in the courtyard in the shadow of the Cathedral there was a lovely atmosphere. It was just the right side of classy without being stuffy and uptight. All staff were excellent and the food was superb. There were fixed price 3 course menus at 27 and 39 Euros but we went a la cart. Presentation was beautiful. Portions aren't huge but big on taste and more than enough. Accompanied by a really nice local Rose it made for an excellent end to a very enjoyable holiday. Would recommend reservation as it's extremely popular and insist on a table outside.

Small menue but excellent choices, fish, meat or vegetarian. For a 3-course meal standard charge is 32,- Euro, which is a very good price for the offered quality of food and service. Great ambiance in the garden, complete with outdoor kitchen. Worthwhile to pay this restaurant a visit when in the area.

On our first visit to Montpellier we were not sure where to have dinner but wanted to avoid the regular 'tourist' restaurants. With a bit of help from the internet we found this little gem. Perhaps some other customers thought we were not dressed for the occasion but staff were friendly and made us welcome. We all ate from the dearer of the two fixed price menus as it looked the most interesting and we were not disappointed. Food quality was excellent, beautifully presented and the cooking/preparation really made the best of the flavours. Though no Michelin stars I have eaten worse in those that have. The wine list is well selected with really interesting local choices as well as options from further afield. I would recommend Le Petit Jardin for special occasions or if you just want an excellent french dining experience.

The terrace garden is so pretty and romantic. You know you're in for a treat the moment they show you to your table. Then the food arrives. Wow. The taste buds are treated to a firework display of exploding and subtle tastes. I had the beef cheeks. My other half had the guinea fowl. I was lucky to taste all the dishes. We also found our favourite drinks of the mini break. She had le petite garden cocktail which was a citrus flavoured sparkling wine. Which was moreish and refreshing. I had the wine in the picture. The service was impeccable and the sommelier was knowledgeable and indulged me with his skills and advice. Truly a magnificent evening. Thank you
