We were eight cyclists and booked L'Auberge as it was the only place on our route, it's in the middle of nowhere. Website said it had a restaurant so we took a punt..........well.....firstly the hotel, met by the delightful owner/chef Lauren, rooms basic functional and ok......then the dinner........oh my goodness , historic, firstly a complimentary lamb pastry , delicious, two choices for main fillet of beef which melted in the mouth and brill, stunning , dauphinoise potatoes to die for and carrots so sweet they were amazing...fresh cheese to follow washed down by lovely wine.....breakfast great with wonderful home made jam. This is only a tiny place , most will only stay there the night , most will eat elsewhere , you're missing something very very special , we salute you Lauren !
