This restaurant we chose for lunch. Immediately after entering your waiter seated at the table, automatically and without waiting they bring you a bottle of clean water and a menu. We chose dishes from the menu for lunch. The food was fresh ingredients, well seasoned, the portions adequate. Also, the presentation of the food was okay. Since we do not speak French, it was a small problem with communication. But it did not affect the very good overall impression of the restaurant. It largely occupied, which testifies to the popularity of the restaurant. Desserts Although we tasted, but they looked very tempting! So quick and nice service, great food, it's all you need for a good lunch. Highly recommended and definitely be back !!
We went in this restaurant due to all the good reviews we've read here. After 45 minutes in the public transport we arrived at the restaurant. The host was very disagreeable, I felt like I was doing him a favor by dinning in that restaurant. The woman who served us was very nice though. We had Moules en cocotte. It was horrible. The french fries were not properly done.I have to admit I eat better moules in Leon restaurants. There is no plate under 15 euros. And on top of that, they allow dogs inside. I love dogs, but not in a restaurant.
We had a very good lunch at this restaurant. It is very popular for a lunch. Lots of people. Just opposite of Pointe Rouge. We could choose between 4 daily specials for lunch. Ossobuco, Papillote, Thon fish soup. All delicious and affordable (about 10 Euros). Most of the people around us - as we - were very content with the meals and the service. Nice sunny terrace outside.
Although located across from the beach, this is not your typical tourist spot. We chose to eat here because of reviews we had read and made a reservation as it does fill up. The food was very good, a tad pricey for what it was, but well presented and flavorful. Nothing exceptional, except the desserts, but in the direct beach area, this place shines.
If you want to taste the bouillabaisse , you have to order it 24 hours in advance for a minimum of two people. The price is 48€/p.Instead, we ordered the bouille (not the same fish and not the same price), which was nicely presented and in generous portions. We were too full to go for dessert (amazing buffet) !The service is friendly and the food was on the table just minutes after we ordered it. The terrace (sadly no sea view) gets full fast and I would suggest you make a reservation.Go there for the fish dishes.
My cousin and I traveled from Aix to come to this restaurant on the recommendation of a former official from Marseille whom we met at dinner one night in Aix. We asked him where to go in Marseille for a bouillabaisse and he recommended we go to Les Trottoirs Marseillais and ask for the Bouille, a more affordable (20 euros) cousin of sorts of the bouillabaisse. It was a fantastic, bountiful savory fish soup with crustaceans and a tail of monkfish accompanied by crusty toast and rouille. He warned us not to have any appetizers and to save room for their home made dessert which you select from their case at the end of the meal. The meal was fantastic and the service at the restaurant was great with very friendly waiters and waitresses. It was well worth getting there from Aix. Fair warning they are closed on Mondays as we learned that the hard way, but returned later in the week for lunch. Getting there is also half the fun as you take a Navette Maritime (a ferry) from Marseille to La Pointe Rouge (they run hourly at a cost of 3 euros) and get to enjoy a 30 minute ride taking in the sights of Marseille.We will definitely recommend and return on our next rip to Provence.
We spent an evening with 10 of use celebrating my fiancés birthday, as each arrived they were prompted for an aperitif with complimentary olives. The food was served promptly, I had whitebait appetiser followed by chorizo and mushroom pizza. The appetiser was large enough for a main course, I enjoyed it too much and couldn't finish my pizza which was rich and tasty on a nice thin crust. As a surprise my fiancé received a mocha mouse cake decorated with a personalised caricature of a sporty woman - perfect and very funny, and also served with a complimentary bottle of champagne. Highly recommended for groups of friends or couples. Nice atmosphere and service, superb merci!
The mussels mariniere were delicious. The sauce was just yummy. Fries were good and bread was tasty as well (and it held up well when dipped in the sauce). The lunch was reasonably priced. We had a " triple" desert (3choices on one dish). None of the 3 tasted as good as they looked. if you are really hungry. my advice would be to have an appetizer instead of desert.
