L'Ile Vincent - Margaux-Cantenac

We visited this place with no expectation because choices are very limited in this area. It turned out that it was a big hit. It's a restaurant in a hotel. The terrace was very agreeable, looking on the hotel garden. Food was very refined so much so that nowhere else, in the Medoc vicinity, can you hope for eateries of this level. The wine list is very large and services are professional. Highly recommended.

My dining experience was first class. Food, wine, service & ambiance were perfect. The restaurant only opens for dinner. If you are nostalgic to good old service this restaurant is a five star hidden gem.

Lovely terrace to sit. The cuisine is slightly below Michelin star level but really well-cooked, with a good choice on the menu. We did like both fish / seafood and meat dishes a lot. Choice of cheese could be better, choice of wine is (understandable on this place) excellent. We had Chateau Margaux's second wine which many other chateaus would be proud about having as first. The knowledge of the servants about dishes and wine should be developed.

The meal was part of a package with the hotel. We were pleased with the dining experiences but not with the hotel.

Very pleasant an friendly service. Duck and beef filet were good quality. Tarragon ice cream (wow) worth a try. Open on Sunday night.

the welcome is warm and professional despite we arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes before the "last call". the food is high quality. the service excellent.The staff listen to request and try to accomodate. my son could not get anything else than a soup. there is no soup at the menu duing summer time.The staff leader managed to get a delicious gaspacho for my son.

A superb traditional hostelerie restaurant located in the Relais de Margaux hotel. The menue provides a fine selection of regional cuisine beautfully prepared from the finest ingredients and attractively presented. Eating on the terrace in the summer is a wonderful experience, with not quite the excellent location of the Golf du Medoc terrace..Wine selection is outstanding and served by a knowledgeable sommelier...his recommendations were great. We enjoyed the Sirene de Giscours and a Chateau Dauzac. Both fine Margauxs.

The service was excellent, the cooking superb. A short menu, meaning everything freshly cooked, with some interesting choices - I had a delicious starter of crab and prawns, quite spicy and beautifully presented, and then veal which was delicious. My partner had tuna carpaccio which was very good, and lamb (the plat du jour), which was succulent and very tasty.We asked the sommelier to recommend wines to go with our food, so we had 2 glasses of a very nice local white, and then some excellent red, again from a local vineyard - and from where else, when you are in the middle of one of the best wine growing areas in France!The waiters all spoke good English - overall a very good experience, lovely setting - we would definitely go back.
