We are not creatures of habit but if the urge for a pizza befalls us when we are chez nous, then we head straight to La Piazza, tucked in front of Malestroit's impressive church and squeezed between the lovely 15th town buildings. Always a warm welcome and in summer the terrace is a super location to relax. French style pizzas are thin and crisp, La Piazza has a delicious selection of toppings to compliment them. The green salad with chopped walnuts to accompany is wonderful.

Visited in Sept, Fri nite, we had booked a table. Very busy, but didn't have to wait for long to get our meals. Beef carpacchio very good and my scallop stew with mushrooms was one of the nicest dishes I have ever had. They made me a special one because of my special dietary request, I didn't expect to get this , but they offered and what a delight it was! Waiting staff very efficient and friendly even they were rushing around.

Always go here when visiting Malestroit. Pizzas have lots of topping and thin crispy bases, with picante (spicy) oil on the tables if required. The menu has hot/cold salads, pasta dishes, fish and meat dishes. All served hot, with generous portions, and good prices. You will not be disappointed. There is an outside terrace in the summer month's.

Having a holiday home in the area I visited this restaurant every time I was on holiday. I always took groups of friends and over twenty years spent a lot of money here. The owners and the food was brilliant until the last one.. Some my friends who used my house came back with a report that the old chef had gone and the new one was not up to the previous standard, I decided to wait until I had tried the meal before judging. I went there with my wife and daughter and sat, and sat ,and sat eventually a waitress appeared and we ordered, having been there so many times before we always had the same three courses. I had a scallop salad, a magret de canard and a peche melba. My scallops were overcooked and rubbery, my duck was overdone and dry and again we waited and waited for the desert, so long that my daughter didn't bother to eat hers. When I went to the desk to pay, I told the girl that I would pay but was not particularly happy about the quality or the service. Because she knew me she would report my views. She called the manageress over and said Mr Hammond is not happy with his meal. She just looked at me shrugged and walked away.. I said loudly in French and in English never again and walked out.. I now eat at the far better and more customer friendly Grain de Sel opposite.

Have eaten here several times and the food has always been good and reasonably priced. Service is efficient and quick and the restaurant gets very busy. Snail pizza and tagliatelle are some of the delights you can find on the menu, as well as standard pizza and there is also a menu for children. The desserts were delicious.

I suppose you can get bad pizzas in France but mercifully I've never had one. This little restaurant was doing an average sort of trade when we sat down but the numbers quickly multiplies making the lone waitress really regret the missing staff member, who had phoned in sick. Some tables obviously waited a fair while, although we were served promptly and efficiently by the poor girl who was being run ragged by the ever increasing clientele. We had a salad with gesiers and magret de canard, plus a delicious pizza. Just what we wanted.

Super fine et bien garnie pizza aux pâtes, un vrai plaisir. Les plats sont très bons aussi, l'escalope de Marsala est moelleuse et la délicieuse sauce. Le service est impeccable, sérieux et gentil. Bravo !
