It's all worth it! From Les Gets the short car trip to Mont Caly, wonderful views, forest, climbing the mountain, beautiful flowers and then arriving at the restaurant Les Chevrelles for a lunch with friends and kids. We had lunch inside the restaurant, where the atmosphere is cozy, warm and friendly. It's a small family restaurant, so the service is friendly, with good attention. After lunch we had a small hike outside on the mountain and enjoyed the surroundings.Make sure you bring cash, since the area does not always have good signal to operate the wireless credit card machine.
In the winter, in order to get to this restaurant, one has to walk up about 15 minutes from parking area, or about an hour on a packed down path from the Mt Chery cable car (upper) station, but wonderful views of the Mt Blanc range the whole way. And the walk is worth it, no matter how you come up. Solid, hearty, delicious regional specialties served quickly, with no fuss, and with a smile - great hosts. Very busy on weekends (reservation highly advised) but even if it is full, i.e., no reservation possible, one can always take a chance, as we did once, and still get seated if you show up after the crowd disperses, after 2:00 pm or so. What to order - we have had goat cheese on toast/chevre chaud, and local sausage/diots, and also hot stone-grilled meat/pierrade - all first rate. And, for the photographers - it is hard to keep your hands away from the camera, but the food will entice you to put down that camera for a while.
This small rustic restaurant sits with the option of an outside are which gives a magnificent view of the Alps and Mont Blanc. The service is friendly and fast, prices very reasonable and the menu( although not enormous) is very good. Our group visiting in January had the benefit of sitting in the sun above the clouds on the decking. The choices of soup, omelettes and especially tarted letter were all excellent. There is a lovely 1 hour walk from the top of the cable car which is well worth the effort for this superb little place
Simple rustic fare and the best Tartiflette in Les Gets with a view of Mt Blanc! Maybe order a nice rose or Vin Blanc to accompany, - heaven!
Stopped here for a beer with my brother in law in August and our wives and my daughter stopped by for lunch. Very popular place and can get busy so recommend booking. Family atmosphere. Stunning views very good beer and nice food.
Clean restaurant, very nice people, very good food, Children can play outside the restaurant,Dogs are allowed.
Very nice place. The owner and waiters super friendly . Children welcome and can play safely in the surroundings. Magnificent views of the alps ;)
We have been going to this wonderful little chalet-restaurant for over five years, in both winter and summer, and the food is always filling and tasty. The only thing that is unpredictable is the view of Mt Blanc, but the warmth of the staff and the quality of the food makes up for that. A great way to spend a couple of hours walking, then eating, then walking again.
