This place must have a new butcher since the 2016 reviews. The entocote was as thin as the soles of my boots and as tough. Chips must have been fried four times they were so dark. Salad garnish had been plated at least an hour before.! Sauce was ok. Mouse au Chocolat was good, service was freindly, will not be back
1st the good even great bits . The service was wonderful as was the decor - wine list was good and the deserts were good . Sadly the main course wasnt up to the same standard - the rib of beef tasted fine , the sauce was fine and the french fries but sadly the meat was tough as old boots - bit of a shame for a steakhouse . Surprised this is ranked #1 - Tripadvisor usually pretty good with these things . I guess this was an off day or maybe I'm too fussy . I'll be having the burger if I go back
We went here twice during our holiday and enjoyed both visits.Waitresses on both occasions were great and understood what we were asking for (in English). The food was great and served very quickly, can recommend the Mussels and the Burgers. Prices were very reasonable and not too busy on either occasion we were in.Would definitely go back if ever in Lacanau in future.Forgot the desserts were great as well.
Great service in French or English, food was very good and the atmosphere was very friendly. Been there in Spring & Summer, very consistent standard. Worth a visit.
We went to Le Comptoir by recommendation from my aunt who's been living in Lacanau for almost 25 years. She says it is by far the best steak restaurant west of Bordeaux. My aunt is a very trustworthy madame so I had no choice but going there. Boy, I was not disappointed! I ordered a Ribeye Steak with pepper sauce and it melted in my mouth. The Beef Tartare was outstanding. After our visit I have to admit that I'm confident that there's only one big mistake most tourists does when they visit Lacanau - they don't dine at Le Comptoir. Seriously, go there early and make sure you get at table before anyone else does. Good luck and Bon Apetit.
20 years later Hi Imagine, I was thhere 20 yrs ago in one of my first ever trips to Bordeaux The place has not changed much which I suppose is a very good
Perfect little Pub We had a group of 4 people that stumbled into the pub last night.
incredibly bad quality. lachstare no taste, really badly. even the fries are terrible. avoid them at any price.
