Nous avons dîné ici un soir alors que nous étions en vacances à La Rochelle. Nous avions consulté en ligne les menus et les critiques de plusieurs restaurants locaux et avons estimé que Le Thiers Temps semblait le plus attrayant. Nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Le restaurant est petit et intimiste, avec quelques tables dans la rue (à deux pas du marché couvert) et tenu par un jeune couple compétent et dévoué. La carte courte, à base de bons produits frais et locaux, se caractérise par un grand savoir-faire dans l'accord des saveurs et la cuisine, ainsi que par le souci du détail et de la présentation. Nous avons trouvé le menu à prix fixe, à 31 euros service compris, d'un très bon rapport qualité/prix. La carte des vins comprend de bonnes bouteilles à des prix raisonnables. Nous avons discuté avec un gars à la table d'à côté, qui nous a dit que Le Thiers Temps était selon lui le joyau méconnu de La Rochelle. Bien sûr, il ne s’agissait peut-être que d’un simple coup de pouce local, mais il semblait le penser sincèrement ; et d'après notre expérience, il pourrait bien avoir raison !
We went in here, for given the menu, there were only 2 other tables in. As it's small and empty it was really lacking in atmosphere. After 15 minutes or so and no order taken we decided to leave and try somewhere else. We did not even get acknowledged on the way out. I'm not sure why there was no service with 2 staff on only looking after 3 tables!
Our French hosts recommend this place and we weren't disappointed. Although we hadn't booked, we were lucky to get a table on the small terrace outside for lunch on Thursday. It was in the shade and nice and cool on a hot sunny day in June. We had the days 'menu creatif' which was just 18.50 for 3 courses - starter of courgette gespatcho with Parmesan and chorizo followed by lamb shoulder with vegetables which was very tasty and finished with chocolate fondant which wasn't gooey but was yummy. My partner chose from the carte which was 31 for 3 courses. He had lentils with foie gras pate to start, pork loin with vegetables as main and cafe gormande for desert (which he was disappointed with) Overall excellent quality of food and good service. Much better than some of the busier restaurants at the harbour.

Small friendly and efficient service. Absolutely lovely food cooked in a modern and imaginative style for an exceptional price. Very hard to beat in La Rochelle and anywhere. Will go again next time in La Rochelle and would recommend you do not miss it. Out of the hussle and bussle of the port but worth the short walk.
Very small and cosy restaurant offering modern way of cooking of local food. Three course menu costs around 30 euro. We recommend it with great pleasure.
A beautiful restaurant with fine service and visually impressive food. I opted for the lamb tagine main which was spicy and magnificent. The two course menu is 26 euros which is well worth it for the nouveau cuisine on offer here. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed dinner here. It's on a street just off the market that has an up and coming feel, a little off the tourist strip. Fresh, adventurous food combinations. No kids' menu, but they offered half portions adapted to their tastes, and the kids ended up enjoying it more than any other meal on the holiday. Worth a visit.
