Nice setting, but very expensive, and the food was definitely not worth the price. Starters from 15 to 30 eur, and main course around 30 Eur, For this price you expect a nice experience, but it was just average, really nothing to remember. I have been going to this restaurant from time to time for more than 15 years, it used to be pricey, but value for money was reasonable. This is no longer the case.

We stayed in st tropes for one week and visited la faucado (friends recommendation). The food and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing!! We loved it so much that we went a second time for dinner. We tried multiple things on the menu and it was all mouth watering:)

This place is a treasure. It welcomes you with a small hidden garden where beautifully laid out tables invite you to rest. Entering the restaurant itself you will be surprised by the number of seats that are available, however each table offers some privacy. The menue offers a surprisingly large number of meals, the prices are high, but worth every cent. We had a fish soup that was just gorgeous, spicy when it was in your mouth but as soon as you swallow the spicy taste had gone. Ingenious!Main course was great as well and accompanied by celery potato mash, a house specialty. And finally we had a chocolate fondant which was undescribably good. The wine list offers a lot of wines from the area. Try the rosé "emotion".And finally the maitre d, his name is Phillippe, has to be mentioned. He will most probably address you in your mother's language as he appears to know so many different languages. He is extremely friendly, knowledgable and also has a fine sense of humour.Coming back to the Côte d'Azur I will definitely travel the extra mile for another great evening at La Faucado.

Visited the restaurant in the morning to book a table and, as my sister-in-law is vegetarian, was reassured that there would be veggie options. When we arrived, she was told that her only options were mushrooms to start...and mushrooms for main. That was it.The food itself was, on the whole, bland and uninteresting (with the exception of the coq au vin, which was tasty). It is also insanely expensive - 39 euros for the mushroom starter!! Average service, poor food and hugely overpriced. Will not be returning.

My husband and I stayed in La Garde Freinet for 3 nights and we came across La Faucado. You walk down these set of stairs into a beautiful and relaxed setting, which reminds me of a secret garden, full of greenery and cute red and white striped furniture. The food is so great, everything is cooked to perfection, and lots of options to choose from. We loved the food so much we pretty much had lunch and dinner there for three days. I tried so many different dishes, from steak with mushrooms to avocado filled with crab meat, and apricot pie. Everything was of exceptional taste. The staff is really friendly, they make you feel welcome and are super attentive. I highly recommend eating out here, if you enjoy amazing food and great wine in a relaxed and serene setting.

Slightly more high end than anything else in the village. But good food, albeit expensive, and a lovely setting. Phillipe the maitre d is an experience.

We have been going to this restaurant for around 35 years, every now and then, probably 10 times in total. It has always been my wife's favourite restaurant - for the food and the restaurant itself, whether you eat inside or out. The amazing thing is that in all this time it hasn't really changed. The menu is broadly the same, the wine list the same. Even the chef has not changed (we were told he is 78 years old). Our waiter had been there for 29 years. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal this time but would caution that it can be expensive particularly if you chose one of the special starters or main courses. So be aware of this. But we really enjoyed everything we had and hope to return again.

On the more pricey side but the garden is lovely and the food is delicious so worth a visit, particularly for a special occasion. I've been here many times but more recently at lunchtime with my husband and 2-year old daughter. The service was impeccable and friendly (unlike most French restaurants!), the atmosphere relaxed and I couldn't fault the food - we ate from the menu (not a la carte). Definitely would recommend it over the other village restaurants.
