We found this restaurant near the hotel as an alternative to "au chantier", that was fully booked, and it was a really good discovery! The location and ambient are great! The terrace is perfect at any time and the decoration is really nice and warm. The waiters are really helpful and kind (all of them except one of them that acts like recepcionist and welcome you to the restaurant. it seems he had a hard day and didn't want to serve anyone else. a pity)The food is good -> we did order an amazing calamar made of small squids and octopus salted with a sort of sweet pepper sauce. delicious. Recomendable! We did also order bonite and moules and they were good but not at the same level as the calamar. The fries you get with the moulse are also delicious! It worths a visit! but, beware of the receptionist ;)

I had a craving for a crêpe, fully aware I was in the totally wrong part of France for this :). Which was sadly proven when the plate came in. The crêpe was ok, but not more. And the service was very unfriendly, even by French measures. Merde, a smile and a bonsoir won't cost you anything :/

OK, so I may mean 'Typically French' in a good way! This place was right next to the hotel, so having spent the whole week traipsing around trying to decide on where to eat, we stumbled in here on the off chance. The decor was a bit dated, but there were a few locals eating, so normally a good sign. The welcome was a little brusque, and we were crammed into a very small table, but the owner soon softened once subjected to my schoolboy French.Menu was OK, not expansive, but not expensive either, La Ciotat tends to be more costly than an embittered ex-wife, and to find a cost per head of about 30 Euro was a pleasant surprise.Food was good without being spectacular, but all in all, a decent enough place if you cant be bothered to walk around the harbour for the fourth time.

Do not be fooled by the allure of the outdoor fires and quaint tables. The fish starters of Calamari and octopus tasted like the water they had died in. My burger tasted like it had been cooked in sugar and my friends steak was a piece of tough leather. Having complained start to finish we had the bill slammed in front of us- shouted at and told to PAY NOW! Even though we hadn't eaten anything. The only redeeming part was one nice young waiter and some drinkable wine.

Our group stayed at La Ciotat for 3 days and had to take French food. Fortunately we found this restaurant near our hotel situated in old port areas. This restaurant truly offers good French and sea food. The way the owner, a gentleman and his wife served the food, was awesome. We had our dinner late night sitting in a warm space. This restaurant is situated in a very old precinct. The restaurant had some antique articles inside the room. Price of the food was neither cheap nor expensive. Only negative thing for us, was that, the owners and servers could not speak in English.
