Living in Gruissan we had heard the excellent reputation of this restaurant, so had wanted to visit for some time, we finally did on New Years day. Situated in the port of Gruissan overlooking basin 1, this small capacity restaurant was immediately welcoming, the co owner team, Bernard the chef and Thierry front of house .We had pre booked for 1pm and on arrival was directed to our front window table which was already prepared for us. We speak basic French, Thierry was immediately welcoming and attentive, he explained the menu in both English and French, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the 'table de hote' menu. The 3 course menu had several choices for each course, primarily made up of fresh locally caught fish but not exclusively. My wife chose a duck breast and goats cheese salad to start and fresh sole with beurre blanc, and Profiteroles. I had a medley of fois gras, lobster and a quartet of ice cream with merangue, i requested that each course be served with a wine which perfectly complemented my food choice. The 3 course menu was 35 euros plus drinks.Bernard was very amusing, as he complained loudly abou the pressure he was under to produce food, which added to the friendly and convivial atmosphere of this restaurant.Portion sizes were enough and we left 2 hours later feeling well served and happy with our choice of restaurant for our New Years Day celebration.I would recommend this restaurant and more importantly we would go back again in the near future. Thank you Thierry and Bernard for a great welcome and excellent meal.
