No question the food in this restaurant is top quality with few concessions to modernity. However, given their two-star Michelin rating, I was surprised by the service lapses. For instance, when we asked for a glass of champagne on arriving, we were told that it was on the "chariot", which would arrive soon. But by the time the "chariot" arrived (perhaps 10 minutes), we had rather lost our thirst for an aperitif. It was sometimes hard to get wine glasses refilled and it was not the kind of place where one could stand up and serve oneself. When the main courses arrived, we were asked questions like "who is having the lobster?" or "who is having the cod?" This was very surprising in a top quality restaurant. I think the food was up to its billing but the service could have been far smoother.

An holistic experience. (For all senses). Exceptional restaurant in every aspect. One of the best serving teams ever. High above michelin stars and "best of" lists.

How did we get there? We were referred of course! Easy emailing in English, an acceptance/confirmation and a request for contact phone number (note to Australians travelling in France - Telstra is not hassle free when it comes to international roaming). So as we entered the compact manicured japonais gardens, we looked up to see that there was an Australian flag quietly mounted along with the french and another - we were being greeted. And the reception, hospitality and general good will did not stop. Drinks on the terrace to contemplate the menu selection? Oui, avec Krug champagne. We all decided on the lunch degustation which included lobster (lash out! when will you do this again). And so the day went, course after beautifully crafted course, a small personal tour of the private dining room and kitchens, advice when we needed it and finally coffee and calissons on the terrace. As we left, our attentive host M Bertrand pressed the most amazing ceramic pomegranate containing more calisson on us as a parting gift. We are most grateful for a wonderful afternoon's experience.

Dinner here was a wonderful experience in every way. The fixed-price menus and the à la carte were most interesting and 'different', the portions were, unusually for a Michelin-starred restaurant, 'proper', and ALL the dishes, including the amazing amuse-bouches, bread and mignardises, were totally delicious. The timing was perfect, and the service friendly, yet absolutely professional. If I were to really nitpick, I would say that the thick piece of marinated salmon should really have had the little hard brown piece in the middle removed, the pigeon leg was a little tough, there was no music in the restaurant to give a little atmosphere and the apéritif waiter was a little robotic in his delivery and didn't know anything about drinks/cocktails not on his small list. Also the inexplicably very low chairs and tables in the lounge became quite uncomfortable (although there were also 'normal' ones). However, notwithstanding the above very small points, this is a restaurant in a class of its own, and one we would return to time and again, if only it were nearer home!

I was invited to lunch at the Les Cedres with a local host. I honestly did not know what to expect from a renowned 2-Michelin star French restaurant, but my divine experience from start to finish made me understood why they deserved 2 stars. It is French cuisine at its finest! The moment I arrived, I was greeted by a lush and pretty manicured garden. It was still summer when I was there in September and it was pleasant to sit and wait in the garden till the host of Les Cedre came to usher us into the terrace for pre-meal drinks and snacks. We passed through a beautiful hallway which led us to the terrace, facing a beautiful garden. It felt like we were chilling in Claude Monet's garden - colourful, slightly whimsical with a touch a Japanese zen style. You can expect an excellent selection of champagne, wine and whiskey. Your drinks would be accompanied by complimentary set of savoury bites which was out of this world! I'd recommend a white Chauteauneuf-du-pape as it is the region's speciality. We proceeded to the dining room for lunch soon after. From there on, I was simplying enjoying every moment and every course of my meal. The waiter or the restaurant manager would make it a point to give a brief introduction to each dish before you start. It's a pity I did not take any pictures of the food but I was not disappointed. Every dish I had was sublime and so tastefully presented, like an art piece. This restaurant ticks all the right boxes for me. The service and food was excellent, the ambience - classy and intimate, the garden and architecture is magnificent. I felt like royalty and I am not exaggerating. It is a little out of the way to get there but it i promise it's worth a detour and you will not be disappointed.

I have been in the fine food industry professionally for decades. Great restaurants are no mystery, always appreciated, and I have high standards in line with the reality that great restaurants have equally high standards they strive to meet and exceed.Les Cedres had me wondering - half way through the meal - if I had died and gone to Heaven. Seriously, the harmony of ingredients and the evident art of cooking to extract the maximum flavour while preserving the delicate nuances of the lesser ingredients had me in silent awe. My guests from the region were similarly stunned by the quality and taste of the meal. What a destination worthy of any detour in my honest opinion. Fine dining in the great tradition of France with service that was without flaw, personable, relaxed, yet completely oriented to the comfort - both physical & mental - of the guest.

I went to Les Cedres invited by a client and I must say that this was probably the best restaurant I have been to. The interior, service, atmosphere and not forgetting the food was exquisite. A must to visit if your in the area.
