Dinner here was a wonderful experience in every way. The fixed-price menus and the à la carte were most interesting and 'different', the portions were, unusually for a Michelin-starred restaurant, 'proper', and ALL the dishes, including the amazing amuse-bouches, bread and mignardises, were totally delicious. The timing was perfect, and the service friendly, yet absolutely professional. If I were to really nitpick, I would say that the thick piece of marinated salmon should really have had the little hard brown piece in the middle removed, the pigeon leg was a little tough, there was no music in the restaurant to give a little atmosphere and the apéritif waiter was a little robotic in his delivery and didn't know anything about drinks/cocktails not on his small list. Also the inexplicably very low chairs and tables in the lounge became quite uncomfortable (although there were also 'normal' ones). However, notwithstanding the above very small points, this is a restaurant in a class of its own, and one we would return to time and again, if only it were nearer home!
