Hotel Roosevelt - Givet

Stayed at Hotel Roosevelt two weeks ago. The hotel is in a nice position at the side of the river. The staff are very welcoming and go out of the way to make sure you are happy. The rooms are extremely clean and in them is everything you need. All in all a good stop over

Hôtel correct pour un déplacement professionnel. Dommage que le restaurant était fermé. Petit plus avec le ventilateur durant les chaleurs. La salle de bain est particulière, il n'y a pas d'angle... ça ressemble a un wagon de train mais c'est propre

We had bicycled all day and I was hungry - steak and fries were my dinner objective. We were staying at the hotel and had just put the bikes away. We asked about dinner and the opportunity to have a nice, rich, succulent steak. Nope, not here."But!" they said, "we have great salads, filled crepes and omelets." Oh. Not what I had in mind. But, you know, the staff were so friendly, amusing and persuasive, that we all (4 of us) decided to try their restaurant that evening. We weren't disappointed and I really didn't miss the steak. All of us ordered one of the large, composed salads - think Chef's salad, with a lot on it, be it smoked salmon or sliced duck or the like. And some of us ordered an omelet after the salad. That was followed by a rich vanilla ice cream and hot, home-made chocolate sauce. Yum!So, here you can have a light dinner or create a larger one from the menu. I left the restaurant with my biking "gas tank" properly filled.

we came to find the place that is locked and not a sign of life. I called the number on the door and one lady answered and gave us a door code that didn't seem to work. after one she came and let us in. the room was clean, but had a very strange, prefabricated plastic bathroom. functional but old looking. the shower worked well and much warm water. that said I'm not sure if it was actually someone else in the hotel to use the water. the biggest problem was the parking lot. when we were on the road with the motorbike, we had asked before booking whether they had a safe parking space and were told. how it turns out that a hotel parking lot is a meter away. totally not visible from the actual hotel. it is not locked at night and the other hotel has no nightporter. so not really sure. had not had the breakfast. in a nice tea room instead of a few steps away and had a nice little breakfast for much cheaper than the hotel. givet is a beautiful place, but would not stay in the roosevelt again.
