Good food and nice terrace for dining, except I recommend against the seat in the back corner in the summertime. Parking is tricky because of the medieval streets, but the views from the outside seating (picturesque buildings in the area) are nice. (of

Nice building in the old city. Very warm welcome. Nice menu and reasonable price. I had a glass of Beaune red wine, that was excellent. Your plate will be full of food. Quality for the food is in average.

This is a good local restaurant and wine bar serving traditional Burgundy cuisine in the idyllic location of Vieux Fontaine. The boeuf bourguignon and gratin dauphinois were amongst the best I have tasted, the duck breast was perfectly cooked and the wine list was interesting and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient and there was a great atmosphere, particularly the tables in the bar area. Definitely worth a visit and a great alternative to some of the tourist traps in Dijon city centre.

We arrived in Dijon late on a Saturday evening and our hotel was able book us a table here, even though it was later than I would have expected them to accept us! The owner welcomed us at the door and showed us to our table. We had a very pleasant meal together with a couple of decent bottles of Morgon at €26 each. The young waitresses were friendly and attentive and obviously enjoyed their work They both spoke English fluently and were able to explain aspects of the menu to us without any difficulty. I would definitely recommend this place if you wish to eat good food, realistically priced in a pleasing environment. As we left, we noticed the owner and staff eating together - and they took the trouble to wish us a cheerful goodnight.

We booked this restaurant for the last night of our stay in Les Fontaines le Dijon to celebrate our holiday but we were not at all impressed with the food. Four of us chose different dishes and each one of us had a complaint. The fish stew was dried up, the steak was like shoe leather, the duck was over cooked and the chicken tasteless. Our polite comments were dismissed in an off hand way and without concern by the establishment. A very disappointing meal and quite expensive at that. We have been holidaying in France for over 30 years and the high light of each visit has been the fantastic food served in French restaurants as a rule. So we do not recommend this place at all.

We were introduced to this restaurant through a flyer in a B&B room and had no idea what to expect - it is advertised as a Bar Restaurant in the suburbs of Dijon and could have been a hamburger joint. It is relaxed, but the food is high quality French regional cooking, a cut above the standard cartes of the area. We had veal kidneys in a port sauce and chicken with prawns, followed by a (shared) apple baked in pastry with a caramel sauce. The vegetables were imaginative. The food is reasonably priced (17 Euros a main course). The fine Burgundian wines are not inexpensive but there are other choices. The waitress we had was charming. The light jazz pianist on Thursday night was very entertaining. The restaurant caters for locals; thus English language skills are not a priority with the staff. With a little goodwill on all sides this was not a problem. The best meal for the price we have had in six weeks in France. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Something to watch for - parking might be a problem. After doing a long block, we parked at the bottom of the street outside some modern flats.
