We stopped at this restaurant for lunch & enjoyed our meal . Service was a little slow but otherwise no issues as food was very good.

Had drinks and tapas here on a Sunday night when not much was open; they were lovely; helpful ; explained how things worked; heated our food and brought it to us; sat outside; nice

This restaurant should be rated much higher! On our tour to Espelette, we stopped in a local pottery store in the town and asked the owner for a recommendation for lunch and she recommended this restaurant. It was reasonably priced, prix fixe lunch was absolutely wonderful! The fish and the Basque chicken were wonderful- the salad was unique- green beans, tomato, a beautiful sauce- can't even describe it. Great service, outdoor seating! One of our best lunches in France!

This local restaurant in Espelette may not be high in the ratings but it does a very nice job of providing good local food and service at a reasonable price. This was suggested by a local and usually they know their places. It is a simple restaurant and even early in October the terrace setting was wonderful and sunny! I would definitely return and also send clients during their excursion through the southwest.

An excellent place to shelter from the rain after an enjoyable wander around the village,we decided to have our lunch here as well. Excellent local dishes and produce, beautifully presented. Very happy to recommend it to any one.

Our local French hosts took us to this restaurant a few blocks from the main city square. It was a very good restaurant with an almost exclusive menu of local cuisine. That means lots of meat dishes with medium red pepper flavoring. If you are a vegetarian, neither this restaurant nor this region in Pays-Basque is likely to please you.We had some delicious local soup--sort of a variant on gazpacho, followed by various meat and fish dishes. The friendly waiter helped us through the local cuisine (we spoke in French, so not sure what the English abilities are here) and drank a local variant of sangria. All dishes were excellent. The restaurant is decorated in basque style--lots of wood with white and bright red accents. It was a bit noisy but the restaurant was full on a holiday afternoon. Outdoor tables are available. We had a two year old with us and the restaurant was attentive in getting her a high chair and allowed us to share various dishes with her rather than buy a separate menu items. All in all a very good restaurant in a wonderful Pays-Basque village in France.

We chose this restaurant because it seemed nice, but we were totally fooled. The menu was outdated, and what was ordered from the menu was no longer available. In the end, we were forced to order things that were available, things that did not appeal as much as the items on the menu. There was absolutely nothing without meat, which is troublesome for someone vegetarien, like me. The waitress wasn't exactly friendly, and overall we paid a lot for what little service and food we had. The town is nice, as well as the chili, but the people have no regard for tourists.

Espelette is a pretty, typical Basque village where many houses display strings of drying red piments on their facade. I chose their specialty
