Des plats surprenants, une cuisine fine, délicate, pleine de saveurs de l’entrée au dessert. Un accueil chaleureux et une équipe aux petits soins dans un joli cadre. Superbe découverte ! Nous reviendrons

The restaurant appears abandoned from the main road through Ermenonville but walk around the side by the village car park and a pretty garden with flowing water emerges. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated by the pond. The restaurant offers a choice of 'formule' and we opted for a mid-priced one. We stared with smoked salmon with a lemon flavoured chantilly cream followed by chicken breast. The portions were huge: the starter was enough for a main course so it wasn't easy to finish the main which was an odd mixture of chicken and figs. I did venture to try the creme brûlée but found it far to sweet. Very pleasant surroundings for a meal but just too much.

Good restaurant with the basic meals. Decoration is very old fashioned and dated. Service is friendly and fast. Easily located accross the street from the Chateau. Lots of parking available.

We walked from the Chateau to this lovely little restaurant, perhaps a five-minute stroll, along cobblestones in the clear, crisp evening. Booking starts at 7.m., so be prepared to have a little something if you tend to get hungry at "American" time. The owner was a charming as could be, was very kind and tried his best to make this a special (our anniversary) meal. We had the lamb and chicken, and what a difference some herbs and a skilled hand makes! Every dish was extraordinary! We were treated as special guests, as were the other folks (French) who showed up later. The owner made sure we were served quickly (for the French), with large portions. This hidden treasure of a restaurant should be a "have to" on everyone's list.

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch on our way from Soissons back to Charles De Gaulle airport. We arrived at 12:30pm without a reservation, but were welcomed and given a table. The menu is a bit pricey, but we found things that we liked on the "menu Sensation" for 39.95 euro. My husband started with a Tarte Fin de Pigeonneux and then had a stuffed roast rabbit. I started with a home smoked salmon with cream. For the main course I had the most incredible fish (Lieux) dish I've ever had. It came in a pyramid of glass dishes. Each layer of glass had something different in it. The fish was cooked to perfection with the most amazing Champagne sauce. Everything was beautifully presented and the flavors exquisite. We didn't need them, but lovely desserts were included as well. This is a very easy drive back to Charles De Gaulle airport, so I'm sure that we will be back again. Thank you for making our last day in France so special.
