Refuge du Laisonnay - Champagny-en-Vanoise

A wonderful place to stay in a great location. Friendly staff made the stay a pleasure. The restaurant is good and the set meal for those in the refuge accommodation is great value. We enjoyed Refuge de Laisonnay a lot and recommend it warmly.

We have been going to this refuge for a number of years now. Found it quite by chance one summer day some years ago when the weather turned suddenly. Having sat outside under parasols, we rushed in and stayed most of the afternoon having lunch and several bottles of red wine. It is just as nice eating inside as out. Much ambiance. The food is great. So much choice it is amazing. The family who own and run it are extremely hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble. They are open from mid June to mid September. It is a must for us whenever we are in Méribel. The reward at the end is well worth the drive.

A great refuge at the end of the road in Champagny Le Haut.Lovely authentic atmosphere for the French Alpes.Francoise one of the owners was honestly concerned for our satisfaction .In summary, we had a very nice time and the meals and drinks were reasonably priced.We will become regulars time permitting!

I found this little gem of a place completely by accident on a warm sunny afternoon. I took a brief look at the menu and was totally bought by the stunning surroundings. Unfortunately I speak very little French but the staff were wonderful and also managed to speak enough English to help me out.I took my seat at an outside table with a lovely canopy and a view of the mountains and waterfall - absolutely perfect. I could hear the Alpine Marmots in the distance chattering away on the mountainside. I could not ask for a more perfect setting. I ordered a local beer to drink whilst I viewed the menu. The choice was fantastic and I chose the lamb chops with a vegetable gratin side. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Quite easily the best lamb chops I have ever had. I was too full to manage a desert but the choice looked great. The service was brilliant and the value was great. I will be back to the area in the future and I will definitely come back to this delightful little place.There was a small children's play area there and it is perfectly located if you are starting/ending some scenic walks.Very highly recommended.

Typical savoyard fair in a stunning location - the food is good and well priced - its chocolate box stuff.

We stayed a few days in the shelter and made beautiful hikes from there in the National Park de la Vanoise. Cyril and his mother Francoise welcomed us most. They were very helpful with information and advice thanks to Cyril we climbed... counterclockwise instead of the other way to save us a disturbing descent). The refugee itself is from a picture book, beautiful and full of atmosphere and is located directly under the great waterfall, so that the view is amazing. The amenities Showers and toilets) are new and very clean. In addition, Cyril serves wonderful lunch and dinner with many fresh vegetables and homemade ingredients. We recommend the refugees!!

We had an incredible evening in refuge, we tried some of the classic meals and we were stripped by the quality and uniqueness of each meal! Thanks to Cyril and Françoise for local stories and tasteful dishes!
