We went to this restaurant for lunch today as we were allowed have our dog with us outdoors. The waiter was so kind and brought Toby a bowl of water. All the pasta is freshly made. I had the lasagne, my wife the caprese salad that came with baby peppers, which neither of us had tried before. The kids had the veal ravioli with a homemade sauce, which was delicious.Myself and my wife topped our lovely meals off with Mati, an Italian organic blonde beer.
Only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings this little Italian restaurant lives above its family delicatessen. The food is from the shop below and made on the premises so is wonderfully fresh. Service is friendly, prices are reasonable and quality is excellent. Having visited Chamonix for the last 15 years we were surprised to find this little gem which we had walked past countless times without realising how good it, and the deli, are.
J'ai lu toutes les critiques incroyables sur ce restaurant et j'étais tellement excité d'y aller. Cependant, lorsque nous y sommes allés, la femme âgée qui travaille ici était extrêmement grossière et abrasive. Elle était carrément méchante envers mon mari et moi individuellement. C'était tellement grave que nous sommes partis. Le service client ne fait généralement pas ou ne défait pas mon expérience, mais cette femme a fait de son mieux pour être cruelle envers les clients. C'était tellement grave qu'une autre cliente française est venue et a essayé d'expliquer qu'elle était toujours comme ça. C'est comme ça qu'elle est. S'il vous plaît, économisez votre argent et allez ailleurs.
We found this on trip advisor as highly rated but not by many people. Hidden but AMAZING!!! We haven’t had such an amazing Italian meal since being in Italy. Everything is fresh and tastes fantastic! The tiramisu is the best I have ever had. Light and creamy! The staff are lovely and made it even better!!! So happy and full right now!
La Spiga d'Oro est sans prétention et on peut facilement la contourner, mais ne commettez pas cette erreur. Entrez et vous bénéficierez d'un service merveilleusement personnalisé et tout simplement des meilleures pâtes de Chamonix, peut-être de France. Et ne manquez pas le tiramisu, leur couronnement noyé dans la crème.
We came with friends from Australia, table of 8. We sat outside on a warm July day. All the dishes were great, except the citrus pasta with shrimp and mint which we did not particularly like. But we were able to change and everything else was fantastic. Had a great chat with the chef, and I can only recommend this little deli/restaurant, knowing how hard it is to find great home cooked food in Chamonix.
The freshly homemade pasta and sauces are to die for, especially their gnocchi. Add some of their sun dried tomato or regular pesto and you have a great dinner. Also, I just can't get enough of the balsamic pickled onions. There are other great looking dishes that I can't wait to try. If you are looking for Italian food to eat in or take-out, this is the place to go. I highly recommend it.
Friendly great food for trail runners to refuel check out the trails really relaxed all homemade food. Highly recommended big fluffy dogs nearby)
