I have a holiday rental place 1km away. I was recently there doing some work on the house, and was too exhausted to make dinner. So, my boyfriend and I took at table at 8pm on Thursday night. The place was empty, bar one other table with a family. So, atmosphere wise, it wasn't the best. However, the restaurant is extremely well maintained and clean, so that's the most important thing.I ate confit de canard (duck leg) and my boyfriend had a 'tournedos' of beef. Both came with dauphinois potato and carrots and broad beans. The carrots and beans looked a little over done and shrivelled BUT they both were tasty as was the potato. The duck and the beef was great. The beef in particular was as tender as butter and so unbelievably tasty. For dessert we had Tarte Tatin (made at the restaurant) and ice cream profiteroles. The chocolate on the profiteroles was divine and the ice cream made on site. The Tarte Tatin was so tasty with just the right amount of cinnamon. This is a simple establishment. The food isn't presented exquisitely and the veg is a bit overdone, but you can't fault it for flavour. We really enjoyed the meal and I would recommend it. I'm a Londoner, so you can't compare it to a London restaurant, but if you want value for money and an enjoyable meal - then go here!
