Une cuisine raffinée, surprenante et délicieuse. Un cadre magnifique... un excellent moment de dégustation et de découvert.
En ballade dans les bastides tarnaises …nous avons atterri au moment du déjeuner à Castelnau de Montmiral. Voyant que l’ancien chef du Pastel Herard Garrigues était au commande du restaurant nous ne pouvions que faire une halte gourmande ! Quelle cuisine tout en finesse ! Les fleurs tout au long du repas ont été une bellle découverte. Merci de nous avoir régalé !
Dining on the terrace with delicious food from the locality, well worth a visit.The crab ravioli with basil was the highlight. We had the evening recommendation, veal served with a mushroom souffle, broad beans and garden peas all worked well with baby potatoes.A good wine list compliments the good food experience.
We found this restaurant by chance. We were only in the area for 10 days and ended up eating there twice. The food, wine, service were all excellent. The atmosphere calm and relaxed. The restaurant is set in a medieval town. Mon. Gerard Garrigues and his wife Valerie run the restaurant. He is the Chef and at the end of our meal he came and spoke to us as we were intrigued to know what spices had been used in our dessert. he disappeared and came back with a plate showing the 6 spices that had been used.We started with scallops which were sublime. We both had the beef cheek casserole which just melted in the mouth, with the creamiest potato and celeriac puree and the tastiest vegetables ever. We finished with pear tart/poached pear and homemade ice cream - all was delectable. The second evening I had the snails, and the beef again, my husband the scallops and the fish dish. Simply cooked with a superb sauce. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
Three course work of art! The first meal was so amazing, we had to go back for a second evening of pure culinary delight. The chef came out to make wine suggestions and explain his artistic process. The best of the best!!!!
The surrounding of Le Menagier, Place des Arcades in the village of Casteinau-de-Montmiral is amazing. 500/600/700 year old beautiful houses and streets. The restaurant in itself is less exciting. Traditional French food, nice but not excellent! In addition, a little bit overpriced.
lovely surroundings, and a good choice of food. Very tasty and something a little bit different. Local wines went well with our food choice. Not cheap, but paying for quality. Kids menu was limited however
Taking up one side of a beautiful medieval square in the centre of town, this is a beautiful situation for a restaurant, rain or shine! The tables in the summer are under some beautiful archways and there is a real feeling of history here. The food is authentic, based upon fresh seasonal produce, which is freshly prepared and of the very best quality - very rare now in France. Even the set menus and the "menu du jour" are of the very highest quality and at very reasonable prices! Together with simple local food and recipes, there are dishes that are original and very creative. A selection of excellent wines, many of them "bio" or organic complement the food very well. The service was excellent! Very much recommended as one of the best restaurants in the SW of France.
