Partially hidden down a side alley opposite the church, it would be easy to miss this place. The decor is cute and kitsch, it reminded me of more than one hipster eatery in London; all odd chairs and funky lampshades. The restaurant was full when we arrived but that doesn't mean excuse service which was incredibly slow. The waitress did a good impression of being busy but a little basic training in how to wait tables would have saved her from running around in circles. The menu has 4 or 5 starters and the same number of mains. Fussy eaters may struggle to find something. One main course of meatballs and pasta reminded us of spaghetti bolognese from a tin, whilst the other main course was mackerel in a tomato sauce so salty that the whole dish was inedible. There are many better restaurants than this in Calvi. Some places i d be happy to linger over a meal for two and a half hours, but even on holiday the lack of urgency here makes one wonder.

The pork with Corsican chestnut honey was incredible, and atmosphere was unforgettable. The service was kind and nice and everything was fine. nothing to add

We bought some presents for family in a nice gift shop, and asked the owner, "where would YOU go to have lunch"? He pointed us to U Minellu, and we were not disappointed! Fabulous food, with an eclectic antique decor. The food was all locally sourced, and deliciously prepared.

I visited in september - and got the most flavorless food i ever had in a restaurant. I got a pasta dish with Gambas (shrimp.) When it came out it was just 2 big shrimps and pasta with a dished tomato. I thought that a mistake had been made and that they had maybe forget the sauce/olie/whatever on it. This was not the case. They toke it away and brought it back with some water pour on it. When I again told them that the pasta was completely flavorless and that the pasta still wasn't boiled enough, they toke it away again and asked if they could bring me something else. They then brought out a plate of plain pasta without ANYTHING. We are talking pasta like anyone could boil it at home. Absolutly nothing on it this time, it didn't even taste like the bother to salt it. How any chef in the world could think to serve a plate of plain pasta in a restaurant, i simply don't understand. Either it must someone who simply doesn't care a bout customers and food standards, or maybe this was some sort of provocation for me complaining about the food. Either way I was so chocked about this, and other guests was chocked to and joked about wether to ask the kitchen for ketchup. Needless to say this really destroyed our evening. The worst part was that the staff in all of this was really unkind and unpleasant, and at the end they delivered a bill for the full price of the meal. I asked them if they found it reasonable to charge for a meal that i had sent back 3 times and didn't eat. They would not change the bill but said we could get drinks. After a lot of waiting around they finally gave us a very small discount. We left the please very upset about this experience and I would strongly advise people to NOT go here. :(

The place is charming, the deco is cute and cozy and the food is home made. The starter was delicious boiled egg; the fish soup nice but with fish bones and the cheese a little too old for me!Overall average although I am sure the menu offers other interesting meals

The food was good - rustic and hearty. It was very tasty. Perhaps a little expensive given the style of cuisine. The decor is vintage/hipster with a friendly atmosphere. A very relaxed evening, but not polished, if that is what you are looking for.

We waited over an hour for our meals. I personally had little lasagna which were ridiculous, I don't even understand the dish. It's very disappointing, go to a piazzetta nearby instead.

We stopped for lunch as deco very cute, but first surprise was the very short menu. Only 5 or 6 choices, half starters other half mains. My teenage son asked for a lasagne and when it came it was a joke....the size of a fried egg.My salad was mainly leaves. We also waited ages and had to ask for bread after 20 minutes as none was offered. We paid and went to have a sandwich!
